Hopefully not perched on the fountain head itselfThis enterprising turtle found himself a new place to hang out in the middle of the lake near the fountain! I think he is perched on either a limb that is submerged in the water or perhaps a pipe connected to the fountain......

"Wow" ... I'm big on appreciating fungi, and this is a lovely photo.
Thanks ! I get lucky sometimes when I’m out on the trails."Wow" ... I'm big on appreciating fungi, and this is a lovely photo.
Love the colour and 'mood' your photo creates.

It was just the thought I had of the poor turtle rising gracefully upon a jet of water that amused me.No, the fountain itself is just out of camera range, but you can see the bubbly water..... It's been working well since the last repair, thank goodness and is spewing out large, tall columns of water which are pretty to see and hear. We really need more than just one fountain in the lake, though, but this year the condo board's priorities were on other items which needed repairing/maintenance sooner rather than later.

I've added one of those small solar fountains to our bird bath (I've been thinking about it as a solution to the algae since Hugh mentioned them in the other thread). Our stupid birds haven't gone near it since. But its a very small trickle.LOL!!!! That would be a picture, now, wouldn't it?!! I remember how astonished I was the day I looked out and saw Alfred standing on the fountain as it sprayed water all around him!
The moving water scares them away, and nobody (except the silly young starlings I photographed a year or so ago) drinks from them. If it's only a small fountain they may get used to it though.I've added one of those small solar fountains to our bird bath (I've been thinking about it as a solution to the algae since Hugh mentioned them in the other thread).
