Hopefully not perched on the fountain head itself ;)

Cheers :)

Hugh

No, the fountain itself is just out of camera range, but you can see the bubbly water..... It's been working well since the last repair, thank goodness and is spewing out large, tall columns of water which are pretty to see and hear. We really need more than just one fountain in the lake, though, but this year the condo board's priorities were on other items which needed repairing/maintenance sooner rather than later.

It was just the thought I had of the poor turtle rising gracefully upon a jet of water that amused me.

Cheers :)

LOL!!!! That would be a picture, now, wouldn't it?!! :D I remember how astonished I was the day I looked out and saw Alfred standing on the fountain as it sprayed water all around him!
I've added one of those small solar fountains to our bird bath (I've been thinking about it as a solution to the algae since Hugh mentioned them in the other thread). Our stupid birds haven't gone near it since. But its a very small trickle.

The moving water scares them away, and nobody (except the silly young starlings I photographed a year or so ago) drinks from them. If it's only a small fountain they may get used to it though.

Apart from my solar fountains I have a static bird bath, and when the algae and poo builds up I replace the water for the birds. Occasionally I slosh the water out and put boiling water in then leave it for 5 minutes (while making sure the birds don't come near) and wash it out again.

Cheers :)

Fish and Chips

Astoria Oregon. My brother wanted to visit BowPickers one more time for Fish and Chips. We waited in line to walk up the steps leading to a wooden walk way alongside the land docked wooden boat. This young lady greeted us to take our meal order. We found a picnic table and ate our food. A group of pigeons joined us on the lawn behind. Fussing with each other to snap up the bits of batter encrusted tuna and fries we tossed. We got in the tow car and headed back over the bridge to Washington. Our last day in Washington state.
