Back to the archives as I wait for the fall colours. 2006 and the Olympus 3.2 MP camera.
We're still very much in summer, in spite of the calendar saying September. A little cooler and occasionally less humid, though, thank goodness. I was surprised yesterday to spot this late bloomer near the water's edge. I had thought they'd all finished up for the year......

Atomic Motel
Astoria Oregon. We took the tow car into Astoria and Warrenton for gas and supplies. My brother needed to visit the restroom facilities. While he was doing his business, I took a walk about and spotted this. The Atomic Motel in Astoria. The structure in the background is part of the Astoria - Megler bridge a 4.1 mile continuous truss bridge ((longest in North America) that connects Oregon and Washington state. It was a very foggy day in Astoria.

Mammatus clouds : I've seen it only once so far

Replay of my Weekly Contest entry , taken about 2 hours ago . The National Park people closed the pedestrian bridge over the Falls , much to my dismay . You used to get great pix of the falls going over the edge , plus rainbows . As an added benefit , the bridge used to vibrate when the water is like in this image.

One of the first photos I took after switching from film to digital. Used an entry level Canon XS. I have tried to take a similar photo (same spot and time of the day) several times, with supposedly better and more expensive cameras, but..."no cigar for me." 
LOL, upside down photographer is more like it, Chicago beaches and lakes are upright
