That game was the Pistils versus the Stamens.

It's nice that the T. of Roses invites a Hibiscus to participate. Such diversity. :D

Man, I've been getting behind... Class sucks, and takes up way too much time.

Last weekend, I went to this restaurant called The Oasis, that overlooks a local lake (Lake Travis, for you Austinites who know what I'm talking about), and the reason you go to this place is for the sunsets, which is why I had my camera...

I got several good pics, and I'll post them as soon as I'm done post-processing them...

Ok, processing is done, but it's left me with a big question. How do I setup my display, Photoshop, and my Printer so that their color profiles match?

What I see in photoshop is not what I see when I save the images for the web. The images I'm posting are a bit washed out compared to the originals. If anybody knows of a site with a tutorial on how to do this correctly, or if they know themselves, the information would be greatly appreciated.

BTW idkew- I like the seagulls in flight pictures. Very nice.

Anyways, now for the photos (in no particular order)

well, i think the problem is that the color space you are suing in photoshop is better (bigger) than the color space that is used for the web. same thing happens for me. one way around this is to NOT use save for web. just save as a jpeg, and in finder get info on each pict, and click on each thumbnail, and cut it, to reduce file size.

i just use save for web. sucks, but most people's monitors are un-calibrated anyway, so i doubt anyone else sees it the way you do.

and the thrid and the last ones are my fav. great reflections and scattering of light. i bet that was a great sight to see.

ummm, yeah, what he said. :D

g4scott - nice photos man. i love sunsets (water reflections, lens flare, and light bursting through clouds).

idkew - excellent photos. id like to take photos of birds up here but they don't hang around long enough to shoot. the crows get pissed at you and the gulls stick to large fields... i need a longer lens me thinks. :)

and thanks for the neut photo man. ;)

peace.

You do know that you can post more than one image at a time, right, benpatient? Anyways, I don't think I've posted this one, ans since this isn't exactly sports, I'll contribute.

I agree with Neut, G4scott. The pictures are great. The last one is my favorite as I love it when you can actually see the "rays" of sunlight. It's really cool the way they explode from behind the cloud and go in many directions. I also find it hard to do other things while school, etc. is going on. I haven't posted a pic in forever. When I get the time I definitely shall!

have any of you seen this site? FUH2. it's starting to become of interest to me (though, i have yet to submit a photo). i just like going out with this girl friend of mine and flippin' off dorks in their H2's... and there are plenty here in Boise. just don't go around wasting gas doing it; kinda defeats the purpose. ;)

<rant>Man do I hear you on the H2 issue....I hate that stupid soccer-mom mentality "oh I gotta have a big car to carry around my kids, their friends and family, and all of their stuff, all while towing my house and using my cell phone." People should be required to have a special license to drive anything other than a car or pick-up truck....I've been nearly forced off the road three times by SUV-driving-women-on-their-cell-phones-who-can't-pay-attention-much-less-see-over-the-steering-wheel.....my friend's dad had his M Roadster (for those of you who don't know what it is, it's basically a Z3 with an M engine and good tires, yeah, it's hellafast and hellanice and it turns like a mofo) run across the hood by an SUV...the guy said he didn't even see him....people who drive SUV's are *******s...if I had an SUV I'd drive like an ******* too....not because I wanted to, but because it's just what happens....they should have special licensing for those behemoths since no one that owns one really has a use for it...they think SUVs are safer but that just means they don't die in a car crash...SUVs have probably made traffic fatalities rise....they're a plague and an annoyance....</rant>
