It has it's advantages but I can't say from my experience its better. Though the dark light adjust in Photoshop CS is absolutely a godsend for outdoor photographers.

I like how you can make more minute adjustments, actually :D

Eclipse 4

Well naturally with half a moon cycle (2 weeks) before or after a lunar eclipse is a solar eclipse.

Here's what I caught of the solar eclipse at sunset from Honolulu:

eclipse1_1024.jpg

and
solar eclipse sunset 1

And my buddy Aphinity got it the lunar one:

Lunar eclipse

quote from my oct 15 blog:
(Oct 15): Eclipse: There was a rare partial solar eclipse visible where I live on Wednesday (Oct 13), and I took some photos. Normally you can't really see partial eclipses in the middle of the day, because the sun shines so brightly. However this one occured at sunset, so you could see notice it easily. Here are some pics, click for a larger version. This eclipse was visible in Oct 14 in Siberia, Japan, and eastern China, and due to the international dateline, Oct 13 in Hawaii and Western Alaska-- The latter had a great view of over 92% totality at sunset. Also note that in 2 weeks on Oct 27, a total lunar eclipse (earth's shadow covering the full moon) will be visible through Western Europe and most of the Americas. Coincidence? It's not a coincidence if you think about it-- the paths of the sun & moon are now aligned with the sun, so it makes sense that a lunar eclipse will occur in a half a month (i.e. moon cycle) when the moon and Earth have switched places... and because the point of view of the moon will see a ring of red sunset around the Earth, we'll see a dim moon go through reddish sunset hues as it approaches totality.

No. I don't like those types of filtered images. You'll have a harder time trying to sell stock photos that have been filtered. Besides, the photo looks better unaltered.
