Wow that is a cool transformation of layers!! Good job

Here is a merge of two images I shot last night after work. I shot each skater seperately, and during processing, I realized I might be able to merge them.

So I put them together, cut out the middle, and stitched up the seam with the healing tool. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first try at stitching (though the pics themselves aren't great lol).

Photoshop has a photomerge function that takes the manual work out of combining images. Give it a whirl.

fred miranda, though it costs, has an even better merging software plug in thing. I own it, and have used both. Using raw, I prefer layers and layer masks-- total control, plus multiple undos. :)

That said, if i was processing a 1500 image job..........

ah, it wasn't hard to do manually. Plus, the photos weren't taken at the same angle, or from the same distance or anything (no tripod). It took a little rotating, resizing, and blending - which I think would only turn out decently if done with full control.

I'll share....

Here's a few of my "artsy" shots from a recent trip to New Yor City. Any and all comments are welcome & appreciated...I'm only 14 but am very interested in photography, and am eager to learn more about this great hobby of mine :)

Great sense of urgency in the biker shot, Greg_C. Everything works well imo for that shot.

Here is a simpler shot of turkey tracks in the snow taken a couple of weeks ago in NM:

That said, I took a wee bit of artistic liberty in the color of the sky, but still. Haha

m,

so just out of interest, i was going to look at some details of the images, looking at how you might have done those - and I'm pretty sure I know what you did, but not exactly.

however, one thing i did notice is that looking at the image in Photoshop right next to the one in the browser and they were different...significantly. Actually, the one in photoshop was a little less saturated and looked better.

So why is that and is there anything that can be done to prevent it (especially if I'm the only one noticing this)

Thanks,

D

What browser are you using? It probably doesn't support ICC profiles, but Photoshop does. Did it ask you anything about the color profiles when you opened the file?

Wow, I haven't been here in a while. I finally got my DSLR in case any of you are wondering :)

Have you tried using ImageShack for hosting images.
It's free and works well.
You don't need to register, but if you do you can keep track of images better

If you have Photoshop use the 'Save for Web' option.

You can use GraphicConverter (if you don't have it get it, great program) or Preview (which is part of OSX) or if you have Tiger you can resize using Mail.

Thanks - unfortunately iPhoto has a nice way of introducing a ton of noise to most images, which makes them look oversharpened, but it's a quick and easy way to get em online. :D
