Even Longer actually takes photos even though the viewfinder is black so I managed to do a comparison with stock ProRAW. And yeah, this app has some serious detail.

This is 300% crop from 5x lens. Check the trees behind the observatory. EL left, ProRAW right.

Thanks for the comparison! This clearly looks in favour for the pure RAW. And in fact the ProRAW looks overprocessed. Since it says "IMG...jpeg" in your screenshot, how did you save the comparison pic? I'm asking because if you just save the ProRAW out of the photos app as a JPG it has all the processing and over sharpening baked in which is not part of the ProRAW (but the default rendering). The ProRAW looks different when imported in LR (dialing down the sharpening) and by using Adobe Color instead of Apple ProRAW profile you also get rid of the Apple tonemapping and get a very natural linear look.

We said goodbye to our Oscar today. 16 years and 1 month after we got him.. I'm absolutely broken but I got plenty of pictures in his last few days...

This is him sat on the corner window ledge having his last snooze there and scowling because I'm taking another picture 😥😂❤️

Wonderful photos, the detail and exposure is spot on. May I ask if/which tripod you use for your shots with a taken with a slower shutter at ISO50?

Yup. We decorated September 28th this year. It gets earlier every year. lol. It was Halloween day just a few years ago. Literally put up our tree while watching a Michael Myers movie.. 😂
One of my neighbors always puts up a special Christmas tree on Halloween. One year a very little trick-or-treater said "Merry Christmas" instead of "trick or treat," and my neighbor decided to just go with the flow.

Hi guys, I just used ProRAW for the first time and tried uploading but it won’t let me.

I was wondering if anyone was able to help me edit the photo to bring the Milky Way out better? Just took the photo 5 minutes ago from my back garden so was interested to see how well it did (or I did).

Perhaps the iCloud link works below?

Thank you so much!

What are the main edits you make or start with with Milky Way if you don’t mind me asking?
lol i admit for this photo and most of mine i hit Auto and if i like the photo i’m done. i’m not a fan of spending much time editing. i would say i’m proficient in LR and PS having used both for at least 20+ years. on your photo i thought Auto adjustments were perfect.

Oh haha! That’s great if it’s the case! I think I’ll have to see about getting PS or LR :)

i subscribe to an adobe photo package that bundles LR and PS for $10 a month. i used to spend much more every year with upgrades. there are also a lot of other apps that don’t require a lot of money like darkroom. i’m just so used to LR/PS that it’s worth it for me.
