another from the wedding, this was some down time between the rehearsal and the ceremony. They were wearing traditional Japanese kimonos, since the bride is from Japan (they changed for the actual ceremony). This is their beloved dog, Penguin. Haha.

James L I love your shots. They're so peaceful and calm, like they're out of a dream, beautiful work!

Looks like you are enjoying your new camera Squeeks. great picture, you just need a drop of Whiskey in that glass :D

Valdore, can you list more EXIF data on your photos? I like your stuff a lot!

Thanks! .... I'll try to remember to post the metadata more often - I'm fighting lazyness.

That particular photo:

HDR from one RAW
Shutter: 5 sec - Shutter Priority
Aperture: f/11.3
Focal Length: 28mm
ISO 100
Camera: Canon 5D
Lens: Honestly not sure; either my 17-40 or my 24-105
+2 HDR source image ran through noise filter twice before making HDR
HDR output image ran again through noise filter
Photoshop tweaks: Curves, Selective Color, (De)Saturation

They are both very nice, but I like your edited version more. No one should be embarrassed to fine tune their photos.

Here's a new one I just took tonight...
<snip image>

... Kansas City, Missouri - a view of the West Bottoms, the old stockyards and warehouse district of Kansas City.

HDR from one RAW
Canon 5D with tripod mounted Canon 100-400 L @ 200mm
Shutter: 5 sec.
Aperture: f/5.0
ISO 100
Minor tweaks in Photoshop to desaturate and adjust curves.

WOW. All of your inner-city HDR pics are just amazing. Some of the best photos I've seen in my life. Is there a wallpaper-sized version of this by any chance? :)

kite surfer, today at paradise. Does the angle work? trying to get the kite in a few of the shots with narrow fov using ZD 70-300mm equivalent to 140-600mm.;)

WHOA

WHOA

wait, that is totally them!
small, small world! WHAT?

WOW! That must be the third time that's happened to me on the internet. Sometimes I wonder if there are really only around 100 different people who use the internet.

I can't believe Peter didn't tell me he was getting married! I've emailed him. He knows I know about it now.

I can't wait to answer that question; "how did you find out?"

Me: "Macrumors.com"

That's totally, utterly, unbelievable. Wow. So yeah, did you go to the AI with him?

I shot their wedding on Tuesday, they were just here at my house earlier today... So weird! Haha. I went to high school with him.

Against the elements...

Taken on a mountain pass in southern Utah. The snow was dry, and blowing across the landscape. Shot with 35mm b/w, and scanned from a workprint.

I like that. At first glance, it was a snowboarder. :p I think shot straight it would've been dead boring... Nice

Yes, at first glance it looks dramatic, but then you see the cords from the kite and you mentally rotate the image to make visual sense of it. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't understand the point of tilting photographs... especially when there's water involved. :)

The Hives - Hammersmith Apollo 23/11/07.

Taken with my E900. It's pretty nasty in low light but I can hardly sneak a DSLR into a gig.
