Brand New Baby

DSCF1373.jpg

My Apartment
Fuji F30

Sorry, no "images" today. Something arrived that has captured my attention.... :)

Oh, that's not lens barrel along the upper edge, just the box lid curling up a bit (already peeked inside). Hand-held so a trifle fuzzy.

Lord, it's 1 am. Do I stay up to set up, or go to bed and do it in the light of day--fresh start and all that?

Bittersweet Nightshade in my garden, Wilbraham MA, taken 09/X/06
Camera: Pentax MX
Lens: Macro 1:4 100mm
Shutter: 1/125th sec
Aperture: Can't remember

I took this in the early evening, and the light was getting scarce, hence the narrow depth of field. Just wanted to finish off the roll, I was surprised it came out at all.

Stay up to setup the new computer? that can't be a serious question :p

Yeah, it's 4 am, and the new "baby" has been up and running for a few hours. All good thus far. (No dreaded dead pixels/strange noise.)

Yakamoto: Thanks on the congrats. I got the 24". (You can see that if you look real close on the box top)

Cut down this avocado tree before a hurricane blows it onto our porch... decided to place the bird bath on top. Guess the tree wasn't finished growing yet!

This was taken at Riverfest 2006 from Cincinnati's Yeatmans Cove Park looking at Newport, Kentucky. Riverfest is held during Labor Day weekend and is Cincinnati's largest firework show and one of the largest in the country.
Nicely done!!

How long was the exposure?

Hmm, good question. Seems like my EXIF information was stripped from the final pic. If I find the original I will post the data.

Creepy? Nostalgic, for me. Reminds me of: a) my treeplanting days in the great north woods--people living out of vans in the bush; b) the woods of N. America, in general. :) thanks

Neat shot:cool: Are all the bikes there that huge? Compared to the person on the right.

They look tough.

As to the big bike, well...the bike is over-sized for Korea (scooters are more the norm) but the delivery guys in that area carry huge loads sometimes.
Also, that lady was short, and the lens was at 24mm making the closer front of the bike look bigger.

time for another wave pic...

Winter is coming and I have a new camera to shoot with. I am excited to see the difference - this was taken using a Kodak 5mp p+s at 10x optical zoom.
