Pulled of of US Route 1 across from the St. Augustine Airport this afternoon to visit a graveyard of old Navy planes...
Cool picture! I live on a lake so I think it's cool to see things like this!Falls Church, VA

The geese were a little confused this morning when they landed on the lake, only to discover that it had developed a thin layer of ice overnight!

I found the general area on Google Maps. Don't know where to go from here...

This was taken near the high point of my running route. Just another 5 minutes or so to the top.
This is such a great pic! The duck looks panicked and the detail of the ice layer is "slick".

I did. The original is here. Thanks!
It's a bit south of there -- between 1st and 2nd street on Avenue A that run exactly parallel to US 1 on the west. Pan down and you can see the planes. By the way -- that block square piece of land is for sale -- so the aircraft probabl will not be there much longer... It's a Grumman SG-2 Tracker.
Another shot of the mothballed aircraft...

Ah... that makes it easier to tell what kind of aircraft it is. I liked the first shot better. If the wing was still extended in the second it might be a bit more powerful.
I like this. A simple but fascinating composition. Eerie (?) colours.
The only disturbing thing is the artefact (power line pole) in the top centre.
