haha.

I noticed that as well!

No. I was about 18 inches away from it. It was taken at Bristol Zoo in the UK. The lioness comes right upto the window and I used a rubber lens cone to get up close to the glass and reduce that horrible glass reflection. I am glad people didn't realise there was glass in the way, I guess the rubber hood worked!

I haven't seen one of those. Where did you get it? Does it work with
any camera/lens, or is it specifically sized/threaded for a specific set up?

Beautiful days coming! It's getting hot at paradise beach.:)

Anybody know a good way to keep salt spray off the lens when shooting beach pics ... I wore a hole in my lens cloth yesterday and still got fuzzy pics.

I haven't figured out a good solution for the salt spray either. I think I went through 2 cloths last time we were in San Diego.

Bridge Bats

The female Mexican Bats head out from the Congress Street Bridge in Austin in search of insects every night near dusk. They reside in the bridge from March to November each year, birth their young (having been impregnated prior to leaving the males behind in Mexico), doubling their numbers and blackening the sky as they leave...

Just noticed that the photos on the thread were of a bit higher quality than my last two posts.

Here's one of my youngest son...not the one in the first two pics...just after he was born...with his Grandmother.

It's a great picture...lucky shot.

I like it, has a sense of calm about it. :)

Pep talk.

A good friend of mine gives us a pep talk on a missions trip. Guy in the background looks upset--I think the sun was in his eyes or something. I love the expression captured on the speaker's face. I got lucky. This was on mysecond roll of film, ever. It was another two rolls until I found pictures I liked more :)

Nice, even though it was fairly warm up here in PA, I still would not mind living in someplace such as South Carolina for the winter. :)

Yeah, I'm here for school. I came from Michigan, so I can appreciate this nice weather, and find it a little funny when my classmates are bundled up like eskimos just as soon as the temperature hits 45. hehe :)

Tomorrow is going to be 80. :p

Twisted Tree Trail

Mt. Yongji, South Korea
March 4, 2007
Sony R1

Every time I've run past this twisted pine tree, I've wanted to work it into a photo that does it justice. It's kind of awkwardly placed on a slope with rather over-trodden trails around it, so my previous attempts left much to be desired. One rainy day, I hiked up instead of ran, so I had time and a tripod on my side. A man with umbrella happened to walk down the hill and into the frame to add to the composition.
