This is a famous photo of Salvador Dali in the surrealistic style of Dali. It was taken in 1948 by Philippe Halsman and is called "Dali Atomicus." Here is a link to a website that explains how the photo was taken (it took 28 shots to get it right--pity the poor cats getting thrown that number of times!).
Nice shot! Ours are just about at the same stage, maybe a few inches further along.
Our Peonies are doing very good, and already have their cadre of guards/attendants.

Truth be told, I am a photography hack... but I am working to get better. I am fortunate to live in an area surrounded by beautiful landscapes. It is always easier to try to take a great photo when you have great subject matter to work with!

Saw this on the ground as I was walking around the other day. Kinda surprising that someone would be that careless with the price of cigs these days.

This weekend i went to the NHRA Southern Nationals. That's drag racing for those that don't know. In a 7 hour period i took well over 1000 photos. I know....crazy. It was so much fun. It was hard but i picked a few to share over the next few days. This first is a '57 Chevy body, Pro Mod car. It has about 5000 horsepower. Quarter mile in 4,5,and 6 seconds. Let me know if you want to see more.

Nice, i do like these shots that mainly B&W with the object in colour. Did you use layers in PS and then scrub out the bits you didnt need?
