Very cool image, nicely done. Was it lighted like this on location, or did you do a lot of PS work? Either way, it's sweet.

Thanks all. Boathouse Row is famous for the outlining lights, recently renovated - no PS other then cropping and a touch of contrast. It was actually taken with a FujiFilm S5000 and I don't know if that camera even provides the setting information, but I remember that it was a long exposure (using a tripod).

I was driving down a back road near the main line (philadelphia) one night when I stumbled upon a memorial with hundreds and hundreds of flags outside the main entrance to a grave yard. Again, FujiFilm S5000, no settings BUT I can say that I used the headlights of my car to light this otherwise pitchblack scene (scary) and a slowish shutter to catch the flags waving in the wind.

More Tintagel Castle

In trying to capture the depth of this, the minute screen of my Sony V1 didn't show me that I could have done with a little less DOF. Oh wel, with the dark background, it still came out quite allright.

Again, a little work in iPhoto.

I think it came out very nicely, actually. It's a bit hard to tell the shape of the structure in focus, whether is short or whether it extends far towards the back of the image. I guess you're right that a little less DOF would make that clearer. It also shows how useful two eyes are in making a stereo image!

I might have cropped it a little less centrally, with a bit more sea to the left.

Thanks! This one was taken vertically, so no cropping. I have a few taken horizontally as well, will see whether I can do something with those as well.

Autmn is here in Norway now, so I thought of showing a picture from this summer. It´s taken at the south voast of Norway at a place called Lyngoer.
It was voted the bst kept village in Europe some years ago. It consists of 4 small islands.
UNfortunatly I only had the stock lens on my 20D, I had destroyed my "good" lens by dropping it a few days erlier

If you have a chance to scan & post it, I'd love to see the b&w version. I'm finding myself really into b&w lately I shot a bit of b&w some years ago (film) but I have not touched it since going digital, and I'm glad to be exploring it again (albeit on digital).

I didn't have a chance to scan the negative in, but here's a scan of the print. I used a Sears KSX fully manual SLR and Ilford FP4 125 film. The exposure was roughly 1/500 @ f 5.6 or so. The print was enlarged with a Nikon 50mm, at 19 seconds on f 5.6 with a contrast of 3.

thanks a lot for scanning it. it looks really great... lately, when i look at a colour versus b&w rendition, I'm finding myself preferring the b&w

granted, i see value in both, and what is interesting to me is developing a feel for which subject matter lends itself better to which approach
