Just managed to get sober a few hours ago. I mean after playing some hours in front of MK demo from PS taking a picture of all those beers was a really though challenge.

^ that looks very nice. I badly want to get some sort of high quality russian imperial stout. It is spring time already and I have not got the stouts out of my system yet.

It's wonderful. Love the style..Stone's Imperial Russian Stout should be hitting shelves in the near future. Keep an eye out for it. It's always a good time for a stout..

Yeah you are right. I have a crush on the dunklewiezens right now tho. A little more seasonal. But screw it if tastes good then there is no problem.

I am now dipping into the dollar beer cooler at the watering hole. This is terrible but you will have to trust me that it could be alot worse.

Alright last one for the night. Try something new. This is a Polish joint that I am at and my eyes fell upon this porter that was in the cooler. Very nice. Def the sweetest porter I have had. Lots of maltiness. Nice head and dark color.

Had this one at a beer tasting this past Saturday. Liked it right away. Strong espresso flavor up front. Was on sale and I ended up picking up a few. Another solid offering from Great Divide

I got the Monkey Girl Dunkelwiezen again. Got too drunk last week. Liking this beer. It looks darker in the pic than it really is. The color is stunning with that hazy brown and nice head.

I am looking forward to my birthday this year I am choosing Pipers Pub. Old Scottish style pub. They have an old beer engine down there. I think they can do 4 firkins at a time but usually they have two. Ill probably drink exclusively from those casks. Cant wait.

This was my attempt at a review. I kinda suck at this but i am putting in some effort now.

This is a collaboration brew from Sierra Nevada and a Trappist Abbey in CA
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. presents some new and exciting updates on its forthcoming Ovila Abbey Ale Series due out in 2011. The label art is now complete and official release dates have been set. The news of this upcoming release has created much excitement and anticipation in the beer community.
The first beer in the Ovila series—a Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel—will be released from the brewery on March 1, 2011. The following beers in the series—a Saison farmhouse-style ale and an Abbey Quadrupel—will be released on July 1st and November 1st, respectively. These remarkable ales will be packaged in 750mL cage-and-cork bottles featuring artwork inspired by the historic Santa Maria de Ovila monastery.

Nice representation of the style. A little dryer than I'm used to. Going to age a couple. Will be picking up some more this weekend..

So are the doubles usually dark? Maybe this is where I am going wrong with the triples. I really want to track down a quad.

It depends some are triple hops and others are triple fermented and others are quadruple:

The St Bernardus and LaTrappe are a couple of my favorites.

I've had the top three quads on that list. Rochefort 10 is one of my favorite beers. St. Bernardus is right up there too. La Trappe oak aged quad just came into my area. I may pick up that one this week..
This is a nice coffee stout from Southern Tier

I am getting bored with the Belgians tbh. Maybe I am just bored with the tri tho because that is usually what I get. I have tried a lot of them we have a top notch Belgian bar here in Pittsburgh the Sharp Edge. Actually there are 4 of them in the area. You can get tasters which is nice. I have never had a quad I need to do that. Really all about the Stouts and Porters atmo. Wits and wiezens for the spring and summer. I also need to find a black ipa.

Going to be brewing soon. Going to start with a dunklewiezen I think.

Have you tried Deschutes Brewery Hop In The Dark? Some list it as a black IPA other list it as a dark ale. Either way I really liked it!
