Also one of favourite movies, I think it is the one with the most gratuitous uses of the F word. And Bruges is not a theme park as has in fact been asked, it is a real life city.

The weather in Belgium in winter, well, it's doable, but come in summer if you can. You can sit in the sun at a street side cafe until 10pm.

As they do wine tasting tours in places like California, Australia, South Africa, France, Italy and Spain, they do beer tasting tours in Belgium. And I'm not talking about pub crawls, they are actual tasting tours.

Of all the countries I could settle in (yes, I'm an imigrant), it had to be Belgium.

I'm home now for a few months, so more Belgian beer pics to follow.

The fool of Bruges....

Very well known and not expensive, about €1,20 each, in any supermarket. 8,6%

I drink a lot of Leffe and it’s good to see you’re drinking the 6.6% version. In the UK it’s changed recently and they only sell 6%, although it’s tastes exactly the same and 6% is still strong lol.

My favourite beer when I was last in Bruges was de Garre. It’s about 11% and they only serve it in small glasses with a cheese board. My cousin gave us directions to the tavern as we’d never have found it, a really amazing place and people were so friendly.
Not my photo but this is the stuff, tastes amazing.

I went around the Zot brewery whilst there too, not a bad pint either

Ah, fair enough.

I stand corrected.

I hadn't realised that he had posted a picture of himself (in beer photos, I look at the beer, not the people), and that he is a chap; however, women do drink beer too.

One of my prerequisits(how do you spell that?) for a partner was she must drink beer. Well she does, just not nearly as much as I do, BUT, she is from Belgium, of all places!

And, Happy 4th to all you over the pond! I was in Boston harbour, on a sail boat, on the 4th, 2002. Wow…..you guys sure know how to throw a party, Wayne, Garth….

When you feel cheap and don’t feel like paying €2,50 for 1 in a bar you can sit on a park bench like a hobo, €0,40 per can. Public consumption is allowed.

Excellent.

However, writing as a woman, rather than assume that every "he" somehow includes me, (when it doesn't), I will write "he (or she)" to ensure that it does.

Well, I'm not American; I'm from Across The Pond, and hail from the Old World.

But, Happy 4th July to those who are.

Ok great. Now that we cleared all that up, lets keep posting pictures of beer.

My attention was drawn to it, hence my comments.
lets keep posting pictures of beer.
But quality, please.

Cheap beer, the hobo stuff, is all too reminiscent of student days, when price and available quantity dictated the nature of much of our (alcohol) consumption.

These days, quality is a far more attractive.........quality.
