China!

From Xingtai, China. Tastes a bit weak but after 5-6 of these, a buzz begins.

Have you guys heard of Untappd? It's a social network based around beer. I'm guessing a lot of you guys would be interested in it. It's a lot like foursquare, and Miso. You check into different beers/ciders etc. After checking in, you can get badges, ratings, and comments. What I think is cool is that you get recommendations for beers that are similar. There's micro and macro brewery trends. Pretty cool stuff. It's still new and growing but its only getting better.

http://www.untappd.com

I have come across it but havent signed up. I use beerby app to track my beers but its not all that social even though it does update to twitter and facebook.

Made another batch! A hop forward american wheat. Though not quite so light. Going to have to wait at least a month and a half to try it. Going to let it ferment for 2 weeks then dry hop for 2 weeks then bottle and wait for those to condition.

I have heard beer from Taiwan is like seltzer water. Asians dont do beer well from what I can see. I have friends living in several Asian countries and they would back that up for me.

agreed, well, at least in Taiwan. Saporo and Asahi out in Asia were great. But I didn't have anything out there that really blew me away

This stuff is FANTASTIC. I'm noticing that we have a lot of the same taste in beer.

Heh, definitely great stuff. Have you tried their new Hellhound yet? It's tasty.

So many great beer events this week for ACBW. Here's a few recents (all on tap):

No pictures but I had the "Chocolate Yeti" last weekend. Wow what a freaking tasty beer. I also had a "Fuller ESB" and a Stone S.S.R. Double IPA. Great freaking beers all the way around!!!!!!! But the Yeti, was great. Let is sit for a little bit and you can really taste the flavors. Needless to say I was impressed with it.

I can't believe my little baby thread about some flashy looking beer as blossomed into a thread that is barely ever off the first page.
