I really like all of the Trappistes Rochefort range. The Trappistes Rochefort 6 is an excellent accompaniment for food, the other two, the Trappistes Rochefort 8 and the Trappistes Rochefort 10 are superb beers for slow sipping.

While I really like the Trapoistes Rochefort 8, I have to admit that the Trappistes Rochefort 10 is one of my absolute, very favourite all time beers.

Actually, when sipping one of these beers, a Trappistes Rochefort chalice does the needful…….

Your glass is lovely and enjoy your drink.

Thank you, sir. They are also some of my favorites. Though I love American/West Coast IPAs, Belgian Strong Pale Ales, and Belgian Darks are some of the absolute best beers I've ever had, and really are some of the best in the world.

Well, you have given me an idea.

For the past four nights, I have had wine, but tonight will be dedicated to the slow sipping of a few good beers.

Personally, I am also rather partial to the St Bernardus range (St Bernardus Pater 6, St Bernardus Prior 8, and St Bernardus Abt 12), - which are also superb Belgian Trappist beers, but actually think that the Trappistes Rochefort range shades them.

Belgian triples can also offer much for the discerning beer drinker, and their strong Pale Ales are also excellent.

As a European, with the possible exception of some of the superb offerings from the Founder's stable, I must confess that I am not familiar with much of what is produced Across the Pond by our American cousins. Now, I do understand that a veritable revolution in beer production - especially with artisan breweries - has taken place in recent decades in the US (and not before time, as, when I was a student, the expression American beer was the sort of oxymoron that was by definition something of execrable quality).

Thanks, Rochefort 10 is indeed superb.

It is close to a perfect beer because it is so well balanced; it is rich, luscious, with a wonderful depth of flavour. However, the alcohol (and it is a very high strength beer) doesn't overpower it, as it has done with some other beers which strive to challenge it.

Again, an absolute favourite of mine.

I concur whole heartedly, 10 is great.

Indeed, best of luck! Your fellow over there seems to have a knack for such things...

He said he has 'a contact' with whom he will raise this matter.

Time is the currency in use here - if I am prepared to be flexible about time (as in months and months, sometimes), it has proven possible to obtain some of the esoteric stuff I have requested. (And then others, spotting this stuff, buy it as well).
