It was fantastic!
Delighted to learn that you enjoyed it.
Tasting notes, please?
I meant to add that I sipped, savoured, and swallowed - and massively enjoyed - a bottle of Montalcino di Brunello this evening with some colleagues.
It was fantastic!
Finally, FINALLY found an IPA that I thoroughly enjoyed. Consolation Prize from Lord Hobo Brewing, a DIPA

Wow, this is a really dark, complex stout, aged in barrels so it's got nice hints of oak, creamy soft, lots of chocolate/coffee/plum, vanilla on the finish, just stellar!

An ABV of 16? Wow. That is beyond wines, almost into fortified wines - such as sherry and port - territory.
Enjoy. I'd love to be able to join you........
There's a hysterical review on Beer Advocate where the author provided a follow-up after realizing his review went of the rails (due to the ABV). He said something to the effect of, "I didn't realize the ABV, so my review included references to panantas and hunkey ..."

This was damn good. I've still got a couple left that I'm going to enjoy pretty soon
Some brews from NYE.
Frogger FLC Triple IPA from Bottle Logic Brewing. Very citrusy/fruity aroma and taste. Gotta go easy on it because of the 11% abv.
Picnic Lightning by Brouwerij West. A lovely NE Style IPA
Adios Ghost a Triple IPA from Monkish Brewing which is completely spectacular.
And couldn't do NYE without a Pliny.
I can best describe it as piney and citrusy. You definitely get the piney aroma right off the bat. It goes down very smoothly as well.Sounds brilliant, and I hope that you enjoyed it.
Clearly, Pliny the Elder is a classic - the way that, say, the Rochefort 10 is a classic - it is one of the beers on my bucket list (have never laid eyes on it, let alone tasted it, in Europe). What does it actually taste like?

Black Tuesday by The Bruery. So good, it almost brings tears to my eyes. 19.5% ABV of damn fine goodness. So glad they opened a store in DC.
Edit: doggone photo wont link
Wow: 19.5% ABV for a beer? This is the same as a port and goes well beyond the range offered by most wines.
Hope you enjoyed it.
I did - a little too much!! I drank the whole bottle, and only just now getting around to doing anything today. 41 years old, and this is my first hangover since in my 20's!

Yeah BT will do that
Looking forward to my Port variant, but not until 2019. Going no booze for 2018.
Yeah, I was drinking plenty of water, but this just hit me like a ton of bricks I suppose
