Giant TCR Advanced. Love the thing to bits, I ride Sportives fairly regularly and this bike just makes 100 miles seem like nothing.

Picture was taken on my 4S if anyones interested.

Nice bike! :) The road bikes really are fast.

I'll post a photo of mine on the weekend when the weather is a bit better.

Here is a picture of my Fuji SST i bought a little over a year ago. Unfortunately i haven't been able to ride it much lately between work and school and trying to have even a small social life takes up all my time. I also recently bought a Salsa mountain bike i will post a pic of later.

I'm liking this a lot! Except the saddle

Thanks! I'm not the saddle's biggest fan, but I have rather wide sit-bones and this saddle accommodates my rear comfortably without looking like a silly cruiser seat. I'm looking to pick up a Selle Italia Turbo and try that out in the near future(have to recover from all the money I spent on this setup!).

I personally use the Turbo and even if there is next to n o padding, it is pretty confortable once you break it in!

This is how I'm rollin'... :D

Ouch what happened? Did you get hit by a car? I incurred similar damage to my front wheel after I hit a pole at ~7mph. When I got home, I whipped out my spoke wrench and trued it up quite nicely. Don't have a truing stand, so it's not perfect, but it's rideable.

Here's my bike. It's a K2 Astral 2.0 that I have finetuned to fit me. I flipped the stem, swapped the saddle, chopped the bars down by about 3", added a pair of Shimano PD-M520's, added a rear rack (for commuting), replaced the stock cables with white Jagwire cables, and installed some nice brake pads.

I ride bmx before one year, so I do 'extreme' riding with my hybrid. :D I was going to fast and I try to do side bunny hop, and it was unsuccessful...

Love this thread, but I want to start road cycling like you all. I go to gym quite often but i think cycling will fill a void. Plus the scenery here in the Lake District is always great motivation to get out and so something. I just wondered what gear you all have. At the moment I have these for running, are they ok for cycling you think? What about computers too? Im saving up for a Trek 1.2 or a Specialized Allez so thats sorted.

Doubtful, they are for running, not for cycling - and the elastic waist will probably get annoying fast. Look at something like Castelli or Santini bib-shorts with a decent jersey over the top. Don't go cheap on those, or you'll pay the price later on.

Specialized Allez should be a great choice. Specialized are nice bikes, and I nearly purchased one. You can go Garmin Edge for computer, but Specialized were at one point offering their own one included with some bikes last year (in Australia at least).

I used to wear drawstring waist cycling shorts, but soon found out the wonders of bibs. I LOVE my bib shorts! My favorite (so far) are the DNA Italico bibs. I also typically wear my jersey that I bought in Israel. It's a Tel Aviv Cycling Club jersey. It's one of my favorite jerseys and was not terribly expensive. It was 150 shekels, or about $45.

This is the most updated picture of my bike:

I added a bunch of white bits to it.

Neat. No damage from the ice-incident to you or the bike?

Right about the bib shorts, nothing tight around the waist, so much more comfortable - less issue with sweat. And let's face it, if you are really hammering along - they will get rather, ahem, nasty. I found the worst thing is the leg grip elastic on some of them is really uncomfortable, Santini seems to be the best in that regard so I've found.

No injury sustained (to the bike). However, I did sustain a bit of bruising. My left ankle is bruised (presumably from unclipping right before I hit the ground and slamming it into my bottle cage) as well as my left hip. Wheels are just as out of true as they were before! :D Last time when I crashed, I guess I kicked my seat tube, because the front derailleur was WAY out of alignment. I fixed it with my multitool that I always keep in my saddlebag. I wish I had a helmetcam when I crashed then!

Quoted from a post on bikeforums from the day of that crash:
AlphaDogg said:
Went on a 6 mile trip to meet with my cycling group. Then I headed out to the reservoir and went around it. Haven't been on a bike in over a week, so the constant climbs were torture. All in all, it was a good 30mi r/t ride. On my way to the reservoir, I took a turn too wide and too fast. Went into the dirt on the side of the trail and lost control. I was going at least 20mph and I just took a dive. When I got up, I was fine. My cycling legwarmers protected my legs from scratches and my helmet got scratched from the fall. I don't think my head hit the ground very hard, because the scratches are pretty fine. My front derailleur shifted WAY out of alignment with the chainrings, so I got out my 5mm allen wrench and fixed it. Got a goathead puncture on my rear tire from going in the dirt, but I had a tube and it was all good . Good ride.

Luckily (ice-incident and the crash previous to it), I fell on the left side of my bike, so no damage to the drivetrain! I don't really have a problem with the chamois getting nasty because it is so dry here in Colorado. My Nashbar bib shorts with a gel chamois does however have that problem. Worst $20 I've ever spent towards bike apparel.

Thanks for the help! I will look for those style of shorts :)

Thanks, and yes. The only two forums I really participate on are MacRumors and BF.

Anyway, nice kilo! Those upgrades will be nice as well.
