redwarrior and I started biking this Spring on a pair of Cannondale Quick 4's
We upgraded a few weeks ago to these and have really enjoyed them
We put over 280 miles on them in August

Nice bikes! I too have a Cannondale Synapse 105. Great bike. Though I ride my newer, lighter Trek Domane 5.2 most of the time now. I'll have to post a picture.

I've got a Specialized right now, which I think I've put a pic up of...

Specialized! by ctt1wbw, on Flickr

But now the wife just got a new job paying about 60k a year and she said later on she'd get me a road bike. Now I'm no Lance Armstrong... I'm 6'2" and about 250 pounds, hopefully after riding a lot it'll be less. But I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good road bike for a guy my size. I love my Specialized, so I'd like to stay with it. Someone recommended the Roubaix model line up.

If you do longer rides the Roubaix is the best bet from Specialized.

I have a friend your size riding a Tarmac SL3 Expert if you want a more agressive geometry.

I've been noticing that front disc brakes are not that common on road bikes, is it due to the weight or some other reason?

AFAIK no true road bike has disc brakes. Weight is certainly part of the reason.
Disc brakes were added to MTB to help you stop better when you had gunk on your tires. It's also less friction.

On road bikes you won't be riding in nearly as much gunk.

I've still got a ways to go to lose some extra pounds and save up. I really don't want to spend more than two grand or so.

Okay sound off, who has a Fuji road bike and can you recommend it? They seem to have a rather lengthy selection of nice bikes and someone else recommended that I check them out.

disc brakes are being added to true road bikes both cable and hydraulic.
