Talon TSI

This is my 1990 Eagle Talon Tsi (fwd). Found it in a junkyard in california for $1200. Built it my self, twice ;). interference engines + rubbing timing belt =$. This car IS a CLASSIC. 2.0L, 4-cyl, DOHC 16v Turbo. 200hp@5500,200ft/lbs@2500, stock. It is the first generation, first production year. The mitsubishi EVO series were family to this car, i enjoy mitsubishi design and engineering, some of the 90's best.

Tiburon Goodness

Love the Tib (05-06 front ends were the best IMO....I have an 04, but not for too much longer...6 weeks until I get my new car). Not a fan of the color though, I prefer the real red that was available on the 03s and 04s. Although nothing beats the sexiness of my black Tiburon (except when I'm too lazy to wash it, since black cars stay clean for about 30 seconds) :D

Perhaps the maroon would grow on me a bit more if I ever saw one for more than the 2 minutes I spent looking at one while waiting for some work to be done on my car at the dealer ;)

But HEY I am a girl and I love my bug. :)

Nothin' wrong with that. I'm a guy and have considered buying a New Beetle a bunch of times. I love 'em. I've loved VW ever since I was a kid. My uncle had a yellow air-cooled Beetle. Not sure about the year, but it was awesome. I'd still love to get me a VW at some point.

Just out of curiosity, how many of those were produced? Man, those are awesome cars.

I used to have a huge thing for the FWD Mopars when I first got my licence (nearly 8 years ago) because my first car was a Dodge Aries and my Dad also had a 600 Turbo, which was pretty cool.

I believe that car is based on the dodge shadow/spirit. eventually that became the lebaron. Was this car equipped with the 2.5 SOHC turbo 4-cyl? This car was produced around the same time as my car (post#52) and has the same offset bump tin the hood. Mine is functional. it makes room for the large cam gears on the DOHC. Did you know that there was a 79 corbra mustang with a 2.3 SOHC turbo 4-cyl. Found one of those in the junkyard too. Turbo cars are rare and fun. The shadow also shared history with the Dodge daytona/Mitsubishi starion me thinks.

its based off of the shadow/sundance, the lebaron is a different car. this car came with the 2.2 TII SOHC motor. yeah some Mustangs came with the 2.3 Turbo which is a pretty good motor (check out the Mustang SVO). the shadow did share the same k-car platform as the Daytona but not the Starion or Conquest, those are DSM's.

Bzzzzzzzz......

Here is my baby.. I looked for him for 5 years and finally found him after I killed my Mitsubishi Mirage by hitting an Elk.
After I got it, I spent 4 months searching for the elusive spoiler, had it color matched and mounted. Woot!

Best looking New Beetle I've seen, hands down. Awesome.

the red one is #153 out of 500 and the white one is the only one ever made.

I love rare cars. I knew they didn't make many of them, but I didn't think the number was that low.

I'm like 80% sure I saw you driving the other day. I think you were coming onto 99 (Aroura) going towards downtown?

Yeah, I don't know how I would remember that either. I was the guy in the silver volvo that hit the turn onto Queen Anne going 55.

99 towards downtown? (chuckle)

I have NO idea where you are talking about!

I live about 3 hours or so, south of Seattle. BUT, 2 weeks ago I came to Tacoma and went to the Point Defiance Zoo, so if you were around there, then you might have seen me. :D

On the way UP to Tacoma, I saw a car *identical* to mine, same spoiler too, I mean, what are the chances right? I wanted to whip a u-turn and chase them down *lol*.

There were only 2000 of these made in this color / style, and to see 2 of them, with the identical spoiler, well shoot, that was pretty cool.

P.S. If you saw the license plate of STING, well then there is only one of me ;)

Finally got to a proper track

I've had the 911 since February and I've had it out to four or five autocrosses this season, but this past weekend was my first chance to get it out on a proper track. My girlfriend and I had a total blast (she in her MX-5, me in my 911) and I feel like I've finally had a chance to use the Porsche for its intended purpose. Unlike the "brake-and-steer" tight autocross environment, Texas World Speedway allows for much higher speeds and it allowed a completely different character of the car to come out. This thing is much more gratifying on the track than my old M Roadster was...

If you've ever thought you might enjoy autocross or a track event I highly recommend actually doing it. You'll love it.

I HATE you. I had a lucky enough experience to drive my boss' STS-V and DAMN it's alot more powerful than the standard Northstar. Amazing. I was scared to accelerate fast... i didn't want to wreck an $80k car. :D
