Nice RRS Erik. It's not really a RR...More of a Disco if you break it down, but still a great car. Got a lift in a TDV8 Vouge RR the other day. Comfy cars, but the diesel noise wrecks it a little.

Yea, its the fake Rangey, I won't deny it. LR3 frame, interior, etc with an exterior that looks like a Range Rover. I guess a real one is something to work for haha. I wish they had diesels in America, hopefully it would do a little better than 15-16mpg.

my baby.. BMW 528i yr 2000 model
Nice car, I really like it. I like the Land Cruiser too. My friend has an '01 530i and I must say they are very nice cars to drive. They have the best seats too.

My soul is yours...

What is modded on it?

I have added M3 competition package wheels with Michelin PS2's (245/35-19f - 275/30-19r), 10mm Eibach spacers on the front, H&R sport springs (with 15mm spring pads on the rear), an OEM strut tower brace, deleted the clutch delay valve, LeatherZ gauge kit (replacement for the ashtray lid with VDO gauges set in - oil pressure, water temp and voltmeter), DICE ipod adapter, hard-wired Valentine 1, and an E46/E39 garage door opener. There are some more photos here: link to gallery.

I would like to go with coilovers (TCK probably) rather than the springs, and if I do that then I'll install some adjustable camber plates too. However, I may be moving to Australia for a year or two or 3, and if I do, the car will be going into storage. I am going to try to make it to Bimmerfest in Santa Barbara again this year (my 6th), and if I do, I'll be driving the car down there.

I recently disabled the ABS and traction control premanently. It drives much better now. :D

Maybe I'm just stupid on the subject, but why would you do that to a BMW? How would it drive better?

You disable traction control because it inhibits acceleration. T/C uses braking power to redirect engine power to wheels with traction. If you are trying to accelerate and the wheels begin to slip the system will engage thus applying brake pressure to wheels as well as limit the RPMs of the engine, I am guessing so that you don't mess up your brakes too much.

I am assuming he just pulled the ABS fuse to disable the Traction Control. I can't really see any on road performance gain having no ABS. Off-road ABS can kick in and be annoying.

For normal daily driving, it doesn't make much sense to disable traction control (DTC). If you're at the track, participating in an autocross, or (depending on circumstances) out carving up a canyon, then the first thing you do is disable it.

BMW's traction control is fairly intrusive on the non-M cars. My daily driver is a 330Ci and it's very easy to cause DTC to activate. It's much less intrusive on the M car. It uses the car's brakes to prevent wheel spin. If you're in a situation where you're trying to provoke wheel spin (or prevent inputs coming from some source other than the driver), then you want to defeat DTC.

Perhaps it has improved in more recent years, but the traction control in my '02 M Roadster was absolutely horrible. If you even thought about a fun corner it would cut the power to the rear wheels.

I also have a Z4 M Coupe - DTC is much less sensitive in that car than the 3er. A bumpy stretch on the freeway will activate DTC in the 3er.

Where are the double deuces man?:p

I really like those new highlanders, probably the only car I like in their lineup right now other than the Tacoma.

I heard that the ride was mushy on those though? Is that true?

On one of my Macs of course
Aloha everyone,

I just picked up my 2008 Lexus RX350 this past Monday and man is it better than my trade-in, a 2002 Lexus RX300! I got the Nav package (so that I can use my iPhone's Bluetooth capability while driving), rain sensing wipers, 18" liquid graphite wheels, and will be adding the SL2i module so that I can use the iPod functionality of my iPhone, then finally give it to my wife as promised :D

I've attached a few pics, but please excuse the road grime - it's raining most every day here, so I haven't had a chance to give it a good wash yet :D

Gorgeous! Hopefully, I will be upgrading my Camry next year to another one. The '07's are amazing, and drive so much better than my '00. Quality issues are not reassuring though, but i'm sure Toyota has worked out the kink's for the '08 and '09. But the Highlander, phew I love the color. What is the sticker for somethin like that?
