OH OH OH,

how much do you want for your BMW Wagon?

My wagon is a rare bird. It's a RWD sport package, 5-speed manual, with black gloss trim and no sunroof. I doubt there was another delivered in this configuration. Sorry, but it's not for sale. This picture was taken before I purchased it. :D

My dad went through quite a few cars while my parents were together. A '95 Camaro Z28, a '72 Corvette Stingray, a 2002 Corvette... an yeah, they were all pretty nice, especially cause they always had that "cool, new car on the block" feeling with them. However, when the dealership near us got the '02 Camaro SS, my dad traded in the Corvette for it.

I absolutely LOVED that car. I've been in some much more expensive rides, but I always enjoyed riding in that SS more than anything. Plus, it had 150HP shots of Nitrous... Pewter, with a black stripe, and custom chrome rims. Since then, I don't see my dad much at all, and he's gotten rid of the car for a Yukon. Still, though, the 2002 Camaro SS is one of my favorite cars, ever. What made you decide to trade it? Do you prefer the GTO or WS6 to it? Anyways... your old ride brings back a lot of memories. I really like it.

Moving on... posted this in the last thread, but may as well post in the new one.

The car I bought when I turned 16:
1996 Monte Carlo Z34. I saved up forever for that car, and it turned out to be a huge POS. Ugh... I was working my ass off just to keep that thing running. Faulty everything, leaked oil, and no AC in the 100 degree summer weather. But, hey, it looked nice for its age, lol. :p

Just bought my new car a few months ago before heading off to college:
2006 Pontiac Grand Prix
A much, much, much better car. Premium everything offered on the non-GT package minus leather. It runs great, looks nice, is nice and roomy (I'm 6'3", 200lbs... imports don't work too well for me...). Nothing fancy... especially compared to all your guys' roadsters, exotics, luxury cars, and big ol' SUVs. But, it works great for me. Too bad the payments and insurance kill me...

MattCube64,
Thankss for the kudos
I had the SS and totaled it (slammed into a jersey barrier and bent the nose almost 15 degrees off center) wasn't driving like an idiot or anything. I was cut off in the morning on my way to work. I then bought the WS6. The WS6 was a much nicer car and more aggressive even in its stock form than the SS, and handled better. The SS was nice but was less plush. I installed a Cam, Catback exhaust, Stage 3 Clutch (2 of them), a Moser 12 bolt with 3.73's, all the bolt-ons (intake, free mods etc) Predator tune, Suspension stuff, subframes and the list goes on. It got to the point that I was working on it every weekend to either make it faster or fix another weak link in the drivetrain after adding all the power and traction (broke 3 of the crappy GM 10 bolt rears before putting the moser in). I got fed up with it and 10 MPG at 3.00 a gallon didn't help, so traded it in for a 04 GTO with less than 9K miles on it. The Goat is a much more refined car with zero clunks and rattles like both of the F-bodies had (probably since it is actually a Holden Monaro imported by Pontiac), way more comfy and still has the power to fry the tires right off if needed :D
All 3 of them have the LS1 Small block for that.
So there is my essay in return.
Nice Grand Prix BTW. I am seriously considering a G8 next year when they come out.

My grandfather has a '98 Monte Carlo LS, and it has surprisingly had few issues. It only has 90k miles though. It's dark blue with a blue cloth interior... ugh. I had to drive that while I was getting the brakes on my Camry fixed and it was alot worse than my car. He finally went up to a '06 Impala SS in Sport Red Metallic. Much better car; though you can tell they are still on the old platform. The steering is extremely similar.

Also, liking the Grand Prix. Lot of car for little money. Try building an Accord or Camry with the same features for a low price. You can't.

My wrangler since we're picking on them.

Lugie,

Sweet Wrangler, I never pick on Wranglers, just pull them out of mud pits once in a while. Just kidding, lets make fun of Hummers since I have not seen any pictures of those.

Matt...

Lugie, nice modifications,

here is what my '76 FJ looked like before a 6-year and on-going restoration. 38.5x 16.5 TSL's.

1967 Series IIa

Thats a nice set of rovers you have there. My dad used to have a 1960's IIa before I was born and he loved it but it obviously was not very practical.

Your D90 is awesome too. My neighbor has one, I'd steal it but they would probably easily find it across the street. :p

I am in the market for 1999-2001 Disco II because my old one had a bit of a collision with a deer.

My dad just traded in our 2003 Discovery to buy this for my mom's birthday. It's a left over early 2007 Range Rover Sport HSE showroom model with just over 300 miles, so they chopped down the price. Its Stornoway Grey with black leather, it has pretty much everything everything except the rear seat entertainment and center console cooler box. I only wish my dad had just given me the Disco.

Will that be the 4.2L supercharged? Nice car.

No, its the HSE with the 4.4 non-supercharged V8. It still produces 300hp (SC produces 390hp) so its not bad at all. I forgot to mention it has the optional rear locking differential, not that it will be going off road anytime soon. We'll see how the reliability is. LR has been improving over the years. It handles well, it's pretty fast (much faster than the Discoveries we've owned), it has good build quality, comfortable seats, nice ride height, good visibility, etc. I don't like the very LR3 inspired interior, the radio, HVAC controls, etc are all the same, just rearranged. Also I wish the black plastic around the bottom of the car was painted grey along with the mirrors.

What I really like about it is how many people don't have them. Similarly priced SUVs like the BMW X5, Mercedes, ML, Lexus RX & GX, Land Cruisers, Q7's, etc are everywhere. You don't see nearly as many rovers around.

I need to find a very good reason for my mom to let me drive that regularly.

Oh boy i would like to get one of those. With a few years of college left over, that car will be my "i'm doing fairly well and have taken a grasp of my life".......car. Until then i just need to work very hard, and old subaru for now.

Nice RRS Erik. It's not really a RR...More of a Disco if you break it down, but still a great car. Got a lift in a TDV8 Vouge RR the other day. Comfy cars, but the diesel noise wrecks it a little.
