indeed.. I would jump all over the polo if we got that in the states.
heres my 07 gti.. package2(heated leather, navi, ipod dock) looking to purchase the edition30 seats so if any of you euro guys can get me a set that would fantastic!

mods so far:
vogtland springs/koni shocks-struts
h&r 24mm rear sway
revo stage2
neuspeed intake
smoked sidemarkers
forge spacer
atp downpipe
awe cat-back
new south colomn pod/boost gauge

MKV GTI's FTMFW!

I ordered mine, and it's in and at the dealer right now, but I'm away at college. I'll pick her up a week from today (and there will be lots of pics, I'm sure :D). Can't wait! What I'm getting:

2008 2 door
Candy white
6 speed manual
Autobahn package (basically package 2 from the 07s but without dual zone climate. I still get a sunroof, premium audio (whatever the hell that is), Sirius (Sirius > *), heated seats and all that good stuff)
iPod adapter

I opted against the body kit and the 18" Hufs, they just seemed like a waste of a couple grand to me.

not a fan of the plaid, personally.
I didn't like it either at first, but it grew on me. Although I won't be getting plaid seats on mine since mine's coming with leather (it's part of the autobahn package. I'm not a huge fan of leather, but meh, I don't care that much)

And I don't care if it's real or fake, American or European, cheap or luxury, but wood trim is FUGLY. I wouldn't ever buy a car that came with wood trim. Just my opinion....

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

I've gotta say this is getting ridiculous. I've gotta take the side that European interiors are generally better than Americans. I mean europe has BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Jaguar, Land Rover, blah blah blah. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you ask me these are real luxury interiors:

So let me get this straight..
You are defending American car's interiors by saying that Cadillac has high quality interiors. Thats one auto maker out of many US manufactures. Now you're backing up that your car has a nice interior because a lexus that is 6 years newer has a nicer interior. :D

Sorry Ryan but on this one, I can't say that American Cars generally have nice interiors. Overall European have higher quality interiors. I went in my friends dad's brand new mustang. Ugh... it was anything special. I mean your car's interior is probably just built well but its so plain the plastic just looks like something from a toy.

I don't really understand why this is such a big deal...

Personally I like the interior of our Touareg (attached).

----

Clarence, I don't recommend getting the Tan interior. My friends mom has the GX in Blue w/tan leather and they stupidly also have the carpet really really light tan. I don't know where you live, but if you're in new england your carpet is going to look like complete s***. If you decide to get it get some rubber floor mats and a regular detailing. Now that I've said that it's a very comfortable and I like it a lot. Just no chromes please. Two of my neighbors have the LX470 which I think are gorgeous. Too bad the 2008 isn't very good looking (IMHO & others). What is that thing on the bumper of the GX there?

Please, I really want you to look at a Cadillac CTS, and then go to your local Chevy dealer and look at an '08 Malibu. As for Mustang, i don't like their interiors. I don't like many Fords, period. And I don't understand your quote about my Camry and the GS430. But my car does not seem cheap, at least to me. Whatever, I'm done. But please, if you can't say anything nice please don't post it.

domestic offerings have been delinquent recently. the first generation cts and srx are a great example. it took 3 interior redesigns in the cts and 2 in the srx to get it close to right. just sayin.

it seems to be the case that we get it right, eventually. dont even get me started on, for example, last gen impala interiors. WOW they were bad.

erik dont know about the bumper thing, its just an ebay auction. funny you mention rubber mats and regular detailing though, the lot guy moves my tan all weather mats between my demos and part of his daily responsibilities are to keep em clean and fueled. :D its really a mudpuddle here in northwestern PA.

Yeah I hate the 1st Gen CTS and SRX interior. So cheap and disgusting, makes my Camry look like a full blown Lexus. The new CTS is groundbreaking for GM, and so is the '08 Malibu. Really a step up from previous generation. But in comparison, the new Camry's are a downgrade from the '02-'06. However, that upgrade is coming in 2009 or 2010.

It's american luxury. Something you all wouldn't understand. But if that's your opinion, cool. I think it looks much better in person, but hey whatever.

Yah the wood is great in the cadi's . My mum has an escalde the carpet is also very good quality.
