someone likes their american muscle :)

Aghhh, I love and hate my Trans Am at the same time. I love her, because it was my dream car... But like the old saying goes, don't EVER buy your dream car, it then becomes a night mare... Yes, I am not happy at the moment... Nice raining days of Florida and you guessed it. My T-Tops have a leak, really bad. I got in my car and there's an inch of water...

But the good news is, I don't drive a ****** 1997 Acura TL 3.2L. I now drive a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air. That is in good shape, just a bit of clear coat missing on the hood and leaking T-Top...

Not too much done to it. K&N filter in stock airbox, high flow catalytics and aftermarket muffler and ypipe. Slightly firmer springs and struts (koni struts and eibach springs). Love the car although wondering how long the thing can possibly last. I'm at 372,000 KM on the stock engine and 3rd clutch. Its been pretty reliable though aside from some accessories dying (two alternators and two waterpumps) since they dont like to see 7000RPM all that often I guess.

I stand corrected - it's a 2.7-liter V6.

I wouldn't call it fast either:
Performance

* 2.0 litre:

Acceleration 0-60 mph: 9.2 seconds
Top speed: 130 mph (209 km/h)

* 2.7 litre: (Automatic)

Acceleration 0-60 mph: 8.2 seconds
Top speed: 132 mph (212 km/h)

* 2.7 litre: (GT 5-speed)

Acceleration 0-60 mph: 7.7 seconds
Top speed: 137 mph (220 km/h)

* 2.7 litre: (SE 6-speed)

Acceleration 0-60 mph: 7.2 seconds
Top speed: 145 mph (233 km/h)
;)

nice looking car but that license plate spot looks soo out of place

There really is no other place to put it since the front grill covers the place where you normally put it (in the middle). Maybe it's because the number plate is just a standard one, not a long European one.

Alfa Romeo makes some of the prettiest car ever I had one back in high school before we moved to the states and it was great.

They sure do! :)

So... I am wondering how it is... I am just considering buying one as a cheap runaround... I have the current fusion (2006) but I just love the shape of the new fiesta...

I always have a car like this... mainly because I feel like my carbon footprint is massive... so this makes me feel slightly less guilty!! All the same... my Aston only does about 20MPG.. so I would hope close to 60 for a fiesta!!

Nowhere near 60. I've got a Fiesta Zetec in black, just got it a couple of months ago, and my average fuel consumption over that time according to the trip computer is 37.9mpg. Not exactly great. It's the 1.4l petrol model by the way.
