I do not think the m1 will be anything like the 1. Because the m1 was a dream car produced that reached super car status. According to the number line up for BMW the 1 series is the economical choice but as it goes up in number (usu.) price does as well. So producing a m1 would mean that the newer version will be similar to the M3 but lighter but when compared to the older M1 it should be the leading flagship car so I am a little confused with the M badging. I am no die hard BMW follower but I do have love their creations. My cousin has a BMW 3 and his boss has a all out track E46 M3 with roll cage and custom turbo system which lead got my cousin into racing.

Nice catch Watson...jk lol nice 5

Well, I didn't really quite read through the whole thread. In my opinion, I think the e39 was the best 5 series made so far. I've owned three 5 series, and this one is by far the best. I did test drive the new M5 however, and although I can't stand the iDrive and the body design... damn, is it a beast when you fully engage the Sports mode. Makes ya weepy almost: so much promise, so damn ugly, in my opinion.

I kept my e34 running happily for a while, so I hope to do the same with this one, with some help from bimmerforums of course. :)

it's a shame they did away with the 4.1L I6 in favor of that MB 3.7L V6.

they just don't have the same feel, though the 6 speed MT is nice and geared well for low range (mother has a 2005 Liberty 3.7L V6 6MT)

Indeed. I would love to swap it for a I6, and a different tranny, well the tranny will at some point, I'm thinking about grannying it, for stupid low gearing, I would love a AtlasII, but they can get pricey quick!

Sure I actually know A LOT about Detailing cars. :D Here you go bro congrats on the car, btw what is it? I am into a lot of different cars be it Japanese, Euro, and (some) Domestics but I am more of a Euro/JDM person myself. Ok I will clear EVERYTHING UP. If you have further questions PM me and Ill get back to you asap.

2high2aim, thanks so much for your (very detailed!) reply. It's just the kind of guide I was looking for. I've never bothered much with 'detailing' my car, just the occasional wash, and a valet once a year  I hope I can get my hands on some comparable products to the ones you mentioned, I have a feeling the market is maybe not so large in England as it is in the US. Anyway, I thought I'd try giving it a go myself. Hopefully I'll get time at the weekend. I'll post some pictures if I get it done this weekend. The below is the only picture I have that I can attach for now of the "before".

And thanks again for the guide.

My mouth literally fell open looking at the 1 series posted here:eek:

Buuuut, right now I am an Audi fan:rolleyes: (Only because I have one:))

Going to now have to stop by the dealership to take a closer look at the 1 series just for fun. Not going to buy a newer car till I purchase a house, and only going to pay in cash for any car I buy. No leases or loans for me. Just not comfortable with banking on my future income and situations.

BTW NICE Jag in the post above. Another car company I have a longing for.

I usually frequent this site alot drooling for a track only car:
http://racecarsdirect.com/
but for now I will stick to racing this as I can afford to crash it and upgrade to the newest electronics and change tires every run ;-)

BTW It is missing its spoiler in the pic, and the green body was destroyed in one day of practice due to me being out of the scene for 6mo.

Why are you discounting the 1 series? It's the car that brings BMW back to its roots. Small, light (compared to the rest of BMW's lineup), and fast coupes. The 3 series today is bigger than the old 5 series. And they are grossly overweight by performance standards. But like I said in the previous post, I am in love with the E92 M3.

Speaking of the 1 series, here are a few new photos I took this weekend. :D

Now THAT are probably the best pictures of a driving car i've ever seen! Just WOW! ;)
What camera did you use for that? Do you mind showing us the "unedited" picture(s)?
