porsche was cool...until it succumbed to that god-awful sin called the vw tourag suv. now all i see are she-men and women all over NYC with that thing....
Porsche is still the most successful sports car racing company on the planet, so they must be doing things right. I don't think there is any sports race car that can be called ubiquitous, other than the Porsche 911 platform.
i'll agree...we can apply this to Acura/Honda's design team too...Porsche needs to fire all it's design people anyways. They've only designed two things from scratch and they're both pants ********ly ugly. ... Life is too short to drive anything with less than 300 horsepower.
It is just common automotive math. Sell lots of road cars to fund your racing business. You might not like the Cayenne or Panamera, but they are #1 and #2 in sales for Porsche. Sales that are making them lots of money that they use to continue to be very dominant in racing. Plus, lets not forget, since the Cayenne first went into production, these road cars were also produced....porsche was cool...until it succumbed to that god-awful sin called the vw tourag suv. now all i see are she-men and women all over NYC with that thing.
You're close. The 1.3L rotary is actually closer to a 2.6L reciprocating engine in terms of displacement. See this article: http://www.rx7.com/techarticles_displacement.html
I have an odd affinity for rotary engines. There's just something really cool about the way they work, and it certainly helps that there was an RX7 sitting in my driveway for a good part of my childhood. If I remember correctly, our biggest issue with the engine was that it liked to eat oil.
EDIT: lewis82 beat me to the bunch by what... 4 hours? This is why you should refresh (really) old tabs before replying.
My BMW X5. Handles like a coupe.

goes offroad like one too
I loved when Jeremy Clarkson took either the x3 or x5 up a slightly wet grass covered hill and the wheels just spun. He put it in park and set the parking brake on and it still rolled back down the hill.

Very nice! Love the car, and the photography!
I can't tell from the picture, but is that the 335i? or the iS?

You can't see the front mount on my M3, but it's boosted...
Getting rid of it soon and looking for a slightly used E92 M3 4DR.
Why not ditch the Evo and keep the E36? JK. I just love the E36 M3, and yours is just so clean!
I keep trying to think of excuses to keep it, but just can't.
My wife and I just had our first child. I need four doors. Plus, a 450+ hp RWD car at this stage in my life just isn't practical.
The Evo has four doors, is AWD, and at 375 hp is a very fun car to drive and track.
The E92 4 door - boosted is my next goal.
Nothing wrong with a fodor M3. It is still an M3.So a 450hp boosted e36 is not practical....but a boosting a rwd e90 (btw the e92 is the coupe, e91 the wagon, e90 the sedan, and e93 the vert) M3 that started at over 400hp is practical?
Four doors? Big **** deal. I spent most of my childhood in the backseat of my dad's CLK. Kids are small, they'll fit anywhere. Drive a couple while you can still mush them back there.
