Nothing wrong with a fodor M3. It is still an M3.

Boosting an E92 to 450 HP is more practical than boosting an E36 to that much power. The E92 was designed for that much power (the M3 GTS is around 475 HP), and mostly has suspension and brakes out of the box to balance the power. Not so for the E36. To boost that to 450 HP (from original 230), you need significant mods to brakes and suspension to end up with a balanced car.

She's setup pretty well. KW coilovers. Stoptech BBK kit front and rear. Haven't tracked her at all since getting married. I used to get up to Summit Point and down to VIR frequently back in the day.

goes offroad like one too :D

I loved when Jeremy Clarkson took either the x3 or x5 up a slightly wet grass covered hill and the wheels just spun. He put it in park and set the parking brake on and it still rolled back down the hill.

Not with those rims and tires :D I would never make it back home. But if I were to put a right set of wheels, X5 xdrive (AWD system) is one of the best.

That has to do with tires also.

Yes it does. Those are performance tires, they turn into sleds below 40F. Right tires make all the difference. I can get away with couple of inches of snow b/c I have AWD but anything over that, I don't even bother.

How do you keep those alloy wheels looking so nice with all the off roading you must do?

(That is the only reason to buy a car like this, right?)

I take good care of it. I bought it 4 years ago and it still looks like that. I do try to wash it every other week.

Nice one! Here's the one I drive. it's an early '10 model. Love it to death.

A picture from when it was new in the dealer and 2 recent ones.

Although I'll post another pic soon. As much as I love this car, the gas prices annoy me. An audi A7 will be it's replacement. I first need to sell this one for a decent price. Otherwise I'll keep it.

it's just a physical thing. Couldn't be bothered when I calculate the year's extra expenses on gas but when I'm at the gas station and I have to pay 125 Euro's again, I get annoyed.

Thanks! Love the color of yours. I know gas is mad expensive but I wouldnt trade it for anything else. I am actually considering getting the X5 //M next year

Thx! X5M? I think you'll be regretting that. You already have the 4.8. I have the 3.0 ;)

Here as some more pictures. I just washed the car, so I figured I could make some lovely pictures.

I think the only purpose of the X5///M and the X6///M was for some sadist at BMW to dilute the ///M brand. What a joke. SUVs aren't ///M cars.

That, and because they basically had to since MB made an AMG version of their SUVs. Gotta keep up with the Jones' you know. They always have totally similar product lines, for better or worse. In this case, worse, MUCH worse.

I wish they were more similar than they are. Then we'd have things like a Z4M (again) and a bmw version of the SLS AMG. Instead BMW's halo car is the new M5. I'm sure it's a great car, but it's a heavy 4 door sedan. For a halo car it's somewhat practical. Halo cars aren't supposed to be practical. That's why they're called Halo cars, they're supposed to be divine. That said, if I was buying a X5M I'd think long and hard about why, and then buy a Range Rover Sport Supercharged.

True, there are some gaps in the lineup, but you get my point. For almost every MB model, there is a competing BMW. But yes, hot damn, a Z4M with the M3's V8 would be A-MAZ-ING!!!

FTFY ;):D

I grew up with a jeep in the family, so every once in a while I get the urge to drive over something rather large, hence the Range Choice, I don't think the srt-8 has locking diffs and air suspension. I could give **** about the rest of it.

BMW needs to take the V10 out of the old M5, strap some turbos to it and build an SLS killer. It's time for the M1 to come back.

Up north in Yorkshire :)
Ok so it's my dads. But it is a hell of a lot of fun ;)
At Cadwell park last week. One of the most fun tracks in the UK, plus the mountain (second picture) almost taking off! It's a 1971 Race Prepped Lotus Elan.

What you got? It's great fun, and we get 4 trackdays a year on insurance ;) We did Snetterton and Cadwell last week, then Croft on Saturday and Goodwood in July. (Not that I expect you americans to know any of those :p)
I know of two of those from following BTCC, and a third for some odd festival they keep having. :D

I have a 05 Evo VIII and '98 Techniqe Tuning STIII M3.

The Evo has a little less than 400 awhp. Love that car in the snow and bad weather.

The M3 is setup as a track car approx 450 rwhp.

I don't get out to the track as often anymore since my daughter was born, but used to get out there with some local BMW and Porsche clubs.

I used to have a pretty nicely setup Mini Cooper S. Got her up to about 200 fwhp and got rid of some of her weight. That car was a pleasure to drive at the track. Couldn't hang with the big boys on the straights, but would make up time through the twisties!
