Great pic, awesome color, good choice! Boost buggies on track must be soooo much fun!

I am curious however, is the hood scoop functional, or purely cosmetic like on a Mustang?

I have never had a car with a scoop. What is to stop bugs and other debris getting in there?

On the STI it directs the air right onto the IC. You deal with bugs and debirs by washing the engine bay when you wash your car. After 150 miles it looks perfectly clean to me. The acid test for that will be when we drive through bug-ridden I-70 Kansas in spring.

Erm, you sure about that? What about water? A scoop with no baffles/diffusers/channels/screens that just channels everything right into the engine bay is a poorly engineered scoop.

How is that any different from from cars that place the IC way up front bottom near the splitter. They are just as susceptible to water and debris. And you really think normal engine bays don't get water and debris? On the Subie, the air is directed just to the IC, and it appears the surrounding area is shielded by scoop molding under the hood.

My MINI also has a scoop that allows water, etc through. In fact, it had sort of a plastic screen I removed to provide more airflow to the CAI. My engine gets a little dirty -- as they all do -- but I've never had a problem yet.

Compared to the Challenger, this doesn't seem to have as inspiring a gearbox (both auto, but the Challenger didn't seem to need a moment to think). It sounds fast though and is comfortable enough to drive. Haven't really felt the live rear axle that Clarkson loves to moan about and love the styling to it. Each time I drive a v8, I fall in love with them a little bit more. My wife says that we can get a car like this if we also get something a little more practical too, so things are looking up at steviem heights :)

My Optima SX...got it in April. Great car so far. I love the turbo and the sharp looks, and all the gadgets.

As a 10 year old kid in 1994, I was obsessed with cars and had the new car issue of Motor Trend and I remember laughing with my parents about the name of the Kia Sephia. If you'd have told me that in 2011, their cars would look like they do now, I'd have thought you were crazy. Those new Optimas look better than ANYTHING in that class. They are amazing. And that color/trim is the best. Nice car.

Is that the 5.0? I have a 5.0 and I LOVE that beast! Ford tweaked the 5.0 for 2013 and added 8 more hp, now stock with 420hp and of course the 2013 Shelby will have 650hp. There will be a total redesign for 2015 to celebrate the Mustang's 50th birthday! :)

"The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 produces 650 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 5.8-liter V-8, and can reportedly top out at more than 200 mph. Yes, we said 200 mph. With the GT500, Ford has put the Bow Tie boys on notice -- the Blue Oval is gunning for the 580-hp Camaro ZL1, so they'd better duck and cover." -MotorTrend

It is, does yours have the 6 speed manual or the automatic?

I solved the problem of my wife having a badder-ass car than me with the new WRX STi we bough her last week. I went out today and traded in my MINI JCW for another one. Exactly the same as her's but in WR Blue (hers is Dark Gray). Now we have his and hers WRX STIs.

Pictures later when I have a chance to take some in daylight.
