^^^ I would love to do the same if/when I get married. She want's to start AutoXing with me....totally a keeper.:D among many other things.

I still need to go see LeMans, or F1 or some Trophy Trucks, or a Rally.........or all of the above.

We have also been to the USGP (5 years) and the 100 Acre Wood Rally. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is in our future plans. We are booked for the F1 USGP at Austin next year, but COTA have a deadline of tomorrow to sign the contract and provide letter of credit for the $25M fee to FOM. Sadly, that looks to be in doubt. So we'll go to the F1 race in NJ in 2013, unless that fails to materialize too.

Now, THIS is a Subaru I could really get interested in. Check out the 2013 Subaru BRZ.

Check out the review here.

I saw that too. I just doesn't get me very exited.

I'll bet with the initial intro it will be nearly impossible to get one, and if you do it will be marked up due to demand. It's also not all wheel drive. That was one of the big selling points for my wife and I getting the WRX STi.

I like the looks of it, but I'm not impressed with the performance. Subaru also says no turbo, which is very disappointing. The WRX engine in this car would a lot more interesting.

For the sake of comedy, I'll join in...

Is it odd that at 26 I'm on my 5th car?

So, I've commented but not really posted. The drivers here consist of this:

2011 Ford Fusion SEL, I4.

And a green version of this:

focus_ghia_materia.jpg

2010 Ford Focus GLX, 2.0.

And a white Fiat 500 on order, waiting for it to arrive.

I always get a bit upset that for the same price I could be driving a Boxster or a 5 series BMW, if I lived in the US. Still, the Fusion feels better to drive than the E-Class Merc's the company offers me from time to time...

from what I understand this BRZ is an offshoot of the upcoming Suburu-powered Toyota FT-86, of which the Scion FR-S will be the European version (?). anyway, they are all related and looks like some serious budget-level sports cars are on the verge of being released.

http://blogs.insideline.com/straigh...ota-ft-86-leaked-in-modellista-catalogue.html

Yeah, these two were a joint development between Subaru and Toyota. It's an interesting pairing. Hyundai is supposed to be updating their Genesis coupe soon, as well, with the new engines from the Sonata. I hope they stick that 274 HP turbo 4 in it. I'm just glad the segment isn't dead. I'm more of a hatch fan, but I like some nice sports coupes.

So much hype for this car. Subaru shouldn't even be able to badge it as it isn't AWD! Just go get the Toyota or Scion version. The Subaru one is an insult to the brand

Like I said, it was a joint venture so they probably had to compromise. Plus, one of their goals was to keep it as light as possible. I would still like to see a version with the WRX drivetrain, but Subaru is saying that there is no room for the AWD and turbos.

Subura BRZ and variants talk

Honestly I think it could be a fun car. However, for the generation we are in, it is not overly compelling. I LOVED driving others E30 M3s at the AutoX events, and its in the same weight/power category....however 20+ years ago that was considered a great performance car, and still should be considered in everyones top 10 cars to own in their lifetime. BUT the problem I see for myself if the E30 M3 will always be collectable, and a classic. The BRZ and variants will fade away, especially as there are so few good racing classes like the old DTM where the body style matched the racing body style. So in my eyes this new sports car is already a failure. Now, give it 300hp and more rubber and it would be decently spectacular. At the very least, it's decently lightweight in this era of pig-cars.

Is it odd that at 26 I'm on my 5th car?

I'm 28, and have had 5 in the last 4 years, two of which are currently still owned

98 Honda Civic Coupe (DX)
07 Honda CR-V (EX-L)
08 Honda Civic Sedan (Si)
08 Honda Civic Sedan (LX)
11 Honda Odyssey Minivan (EX-L)

Hoping to add a 3rd to our stable at some point soon, probably a project car of some nature.
