I have a new car this year, but not by choice (someone else ran a red light, causing a 5-car pile up - one of them was my poor little Saturn). I'm at work, so I can't post the pics of my old car, but I can at least show you the shiny, new car. I do <3 my new car, but I miss not having a car payment (my old car was paid off 3 years ago).

Shiny:

It also, apparently, came complete with a Scooby-Doo ghost in the windshield:

I took a few beauty shots this morning. I gave the car its semi-annual detail last weekend: I polished with a random orbital using Menzerna polishes and topped the car with 2 layers of Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant applied by hand.

Got it in sept.

went through like 12 different car test drives.. basically every mid/full sedan and fell in love with CC when I saw it.

Had to have one.

Image

I love my CC. I just picked it up in April. Its amazing how many people never saw the CC before I got it. It definetely is a head turner.

It is hard to tell, but I took off the added tint that came with the car. Every window, including the windshield was covered. It would have been only a matter of time before I got pulled over.

Great looking E46. I'm quite sure I've seen your car elsewhere, are you on Bimmerforums as well?

Loving it!

I'm looking at purchasing my first car this summer in a few weeks, however I have not fully decided on what to purchase yet. I'm looking at the following cars as of now:

Honestly I would skip the Z4. While quite sporty looking, it doesn't feel it in the slightest, even with the 3.0i or 3.0si, and if its the tiptronic, shifting feels horrid even after the 2004 change.

The 330ci feels great IMO, even with only 220hp for it's weight, and it is pretty damn practical. The Boxster S would be my first choice if you plan on HPDEs or AutoXing And I agree 2003+ for the Boxster and 330ci.

Be sure to post pics once it is in your possession.

Will be picking this one up on Friday to replace my 2010 unit. Difference is this one is white, has GPS, and a V6 instead of the 2.5L Duratec. Can't wait to see how it goes!

Thanks for your advice!

I will try to test-drive both the Z4 and the Boxster S in the following days, in order to get a good feel for both cars. I did drive a Z4 3.0si Coupé at a local track day when I was 14 years old, and since it was five years ago - I do need to refresh my memory. However I do remember that even the Coupé felt really soft, way too soft for track. The convertible is not likely to be any better. Having driven my uncles 987 Boxster, I do know what an amazing car the Boxster is, and what they're capable of - on the road, and on track. In the end though, it's a financial question, the Z4 and 330ci are a lot cheaper than the Boxster, not only to purchase, but also to maintain and own. As this would be my first car, I'm sure I would love any of the above mentioned ones. I just want to get the most utility for the money I'm planning to spend. In the following days, I will find out whether it will be worth the extra money or not!

Oh, I assure you, I will share some pictures and info as soon as I find the car I'm looking for!

Sadly I had to get rid of my truck, but I'm pleased with it's replacement a '12 Accord SE.

More like 2002 or newer on the 330 - the only real difference between the 2002 and 2003 models is the provision to add an auxiliary jack to the radio on the 2003. If I were shopping for an E46 330 now, I would be looking for a 2004 or newer model with a 6 speed. A performance package model (on a US-spec car) may be worth it depending on the price premium. M-sport package for sure if a non-US car.

Bingo. I was out to lunch that day, and saw them all lined up nicely, had to snap a photo, there was a second R8, and an Enzo I couldn't fit in the photo. It's not uncommon to see these types of cars in front of Cru wine bar.

My newest car. I'm surprised with this photo's quality as it was taken with my iPhone 4S. (Yes, my vanity plate does say "MAC GURU") :p

Someone wants to trade me their 2002 E46 M3 Imola 6spd-no sunroof though...debating. This car pulls on e46 m3s quite well, and is setup, but it's the luxury that I miss....
Car looks great. Which swap? If you're pulling on E46 I'm assuming atleast an S50. You a member on r3vlimited or e30tech?

Below is my 1986 325 E30. Bought it two days after I got my license, and I've been working on it ever since. I've probably driven it 1/100th of the hours I've put in, but its definitely fun to work on. I'm now trying to remove the fuel tank.

Most important mods include M20B25 engine swap, Apex 60/40 lowering springs, Bilstein Sport Shocks, UUC Short Shift Kit w/DSSR, MarkD chip, Rota Slipstreams (from GB), and some other stuff I don't immediately recall. Future plans include a 3.46LSD and some lower springs or coilovers.
