Love it! This is also my first American car I have ever owned and have been extremely satisfied thus far. From order to delivery took about 8 weeks. I haven't done any mods because the car is pretty much exactly what I wanted. Would like to do some suspension mods but its still so new I feel like I'd be wasting my money.

I just picked up a slightly used set of wheels, same as the wheels on your car. I had originally gone with the GT500 axle back exhaust, but it was a little too quiet. 2 weeks ago, Flowmaster Outlaw axle back went on, and it is really loud. Sounds like a muscle car now. :)

Just returned from a 3800 mile road trip that took me from Florida to Rhode Island via the Blue Ridge Parkway & Skyline Drive and then back to Florida via 4 stops at beach resorts along the way. Awesome trip, car performed perfectly.

We passed 156,000 miles on the odometer on the way home. When I bought the car 8 years ago, it had 56,000. I'm proud of my little Honda. :)

Every time I see pictures of American number (license) plates I cringe. They all look so awful and they're always surrounded by a bunch of free advertising for the dealer.

In the UK the dealer usually puts a sticker in the rear window and that's about it. The first thing I ever do if I get a car is get rid of that sticker. If I had that Audi I'd be either replacing that surround around the number plate or painting over it. It spoils the look of the car IMO.

1. I'd much rather have a license plate frame than a sticker - dealers here put stickers on the body and those are more difficult to remove. License plate frames are held on by 4 screws and can easily be replaced and cause no damage to the body/paint.

2. When I bought my car, I told the dealer I do not want any stickers on it. They obliged. They stuck a license plate frame on there with their name on it, I could swap it out for a frame of my choosing if I wanted to, but I don't feel like spending the money on a new one. It doesn't bother me.

3. If my license plate frame said Jack Daniels on it, I'd keep it, even if it was Jack Daniels Motors :p

Oh... those are so easy to remove. Took that advertising frame off my car within 10 seconds of bringing it home. I think it's much worst when the dealer puts a decal on the car, like this.

They come off, but they are much harder to get off than a tag frame or sticker on the window.

I agree, those are the worst. Luckily I asked the dealer to not apply one when I ordered my car and they complied :)

My 2010 Sentra SE-R. I guess I'm cheating a bit, though, as this picture was taken right after I bought it new. It still looks just like this ;) except that the wheels could use a good scrubbing.

I have the same ride except in black. I love it!

Are manuals becoming more popular in American now? Must be so boring for most people in America driving an automatic all the time, no fun! :D
I've always wanted to drive a manual, something about being able to control the gears and the thrill of doing so, even at slow speeds, keeps me awake when driving. Plus, my dream car is going to be manual so I needed go ahead and work on being fluent.

/learningstickonnewcar

I've gotten a lot nailed down these past few days and the only stalls I had was one sudden stop before I could disengage the clutch when a pedestrian stepped in front of me and reversing twice while forgetting to disengage the E-Brake.

Other than that, I need to improve on inclines, smoothing out first gear., and rev matching with other gears so the car isn't jumping too much (only slightly but I'm trying to get smooth. I can do it, I just don't feed enough gas at times).

looks nice :)
Thanks! No more complaining from me since I was coming from a 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS which required premium gas. I dreamed of the day I get to use cheap, regular gas again and its finally here along with better gas mileage.

It seems to vary. Cheaper cars often start with a manual, as do sports cars. The racer movies seemed to help make them more popular.

Glad you went for a manual though should be much more fun to drive!

I live in United Kingdom where 99.5% of cars are manual it's just something we do in this country, so I've also been brought up with manual cars and as I'm learning to drive now, could see that driving an automatic would be quite boring as learning you are always alert doing stuff (checking mirrors, gears, clutch control etc..) as automatic it's like foot on gas, foot on brake seems abit lifeless. :)

It depends really. If you drive in a lot of stop and go (as I do) it can get tedious, rowing 1-3 or 4 and back. I think it's an important skill to have though.

Not only that, but it feels like in many situations the car sits or coasts in weird gears, like my car wouldn't pick up unless I floored it (which makes some sense as its not really meant to be floored). I guess it also has to do with the Avalon only having 4 gears.

But sometimes I worry about burning expensive premium gas when coasting on the highway and the car is revving as 2.5-2.8k, whereas my Mazda3 is chilling about 1.9-2.2k.

that's not entirely true - you can no longer get some sport cars with manual gear. Porsche just went full "PDK", and so have Ferrari (i think they use some sort of a DCT). in some cars you don't even have the option to specify a manual gearbox even if you pay extra.

I was also saddened that the R35 GT-R isn't offered with standard shift. I understand the purpose of the dual-clutch but we haven't even gotten a taste of any manual Skylines from Nissan in the States, and Supra's are rare in stock condition.

What do you mean by 'and back' if your up in 3rd and come to a set of lights don't you's just brake and push the clutch fully in until you come to a stop then just take it from its position in 3rd to neutral or 1st as long as the clutch is in it won't stall:) or did I misread that answer?:p

I don't. I almost always shift back down through each gear as I slow down.

Well, you're not supposed to do that. Ideally, you would gear down when you slow until a halt (which you achieve with the brakes of course).

Love seeing everyones awesome rides!

Thought I'd share my CLS550 launch edition with full Brabus kit, Vossen CV7s, RennTech V3 lowering module, blacked out trim/badges, 15% window tint, and a light taillight tint. Missing center caps in the pictures because for some reason they forgot them when I first got the wheels, but I got them now. :)

Finally got a picture of the wheels on the car. Taken with my Galaxy SIII so excuse the quality. Not a bad camera for a phone, but doesn't replace my normal camera.

New wheels and exhaust. Sticker on the rear quarter window says 40+ MPG....a little something for the lady in the Prius who decided to be a hater and tell me that I was "******* killing the environment in that thing."

Really?

Not what they teach you in the UK :)
If your coming to stop pointless going down through the gears it's un-needed.
Brake, Clutch In - keep in, keep braking, stop, put it in gear neutral or 1 :)
