Oh baby... My mom has one, I'm not a huge fan but they get the job done. Nice photo :D

Haha...I've put my car through hell and back. Beach excursions, snowboards, trips to Mexico you name it's done it with out even a bat of an eye. I even took it offroading over Thanksgiving and actually caught air!:cool:

You're more adventurous then I. I took it down an ATV trail in the fall once but that was it. I've thought about doing other things, but they'd be too hard to explain if something went astray.

There's a similar thread in the picture forums (for posting pics of your car, DUH!).

But just post you car and a couple of specs. No matter how embarrasing!

180 000 USD... for those who don't want to pull out their widget.

Okay I just talked to my friend back home and I retract my statement. Triple the cost I previously mentioned. :rolleyes: Apparently the mining industry is booming in the town and land and real estate is shooting up at astronomical rates. Our house back there is being rented out but it's a great time to sell and move elsewhere.

We have a touring 325/330 i and xi here in the states.

E90 = Sedan
E91 = Touring
E92 = Coupe

The one that was in the photo was a E46 Touring which they also shipped to the states.

heh. Your 325i reminds me of a close friend. He bought one back in mid '00 (I think he got one of the first '01s off the line.) He works for Intel, as I also did at the time. Around Intel, there was a running joke about how much your car was worth. The thought behind it was that once you had some stock options vest, you'd cash out a bunch to buy a new car. Well, when the stock price went up, the value of those options that you sold would have gone up, too. So you'd calculate the current value of those options, and say your car was worth that much. So you'd have people with $100,000 Toyota Camrys, Million-dollar Ford Broncos, etc.

Well, my friend sold his options at the exact perfect time. Right before the stock price tanked. (Around $100/share. They went down really low, which made many of his options 'under water', meaning the amount of money he had to pay was MORE than the market value.) That meant that he had a $7000 BMW. (I think that's the lowest it got.)

On an unrelated note: I keep seeing your name listed as the last poster in forum lists, and being really confused. My first name is also Ed, and as should be fairly obvious from my user name, my last name begins with "H". A long time ago, I used to use 'Ed H' or 'EdH' as my handle on forums, but that was taken often enough that I finally gave up on it...

she has a new sticker...

Ooo, I like! Where do I get the MR ones?? Not for my car (I'm all anal about having nothing on my car), but my truck has an Apple sticker on it already, so it could go on there.

Anywho, here's a couple of newer one of my car:

Bought this baby brand new back in 1998, still runs like a champ. I guess I am kind of attached to it since it was the first brand new car I bought, I was 18, and learned to drive a manual transmission on it.

Though I am kinda wanting something new, maybe move up to an Accord soon. Or buy a second vehicle like a truck, or learn to ride a motorcycle or something.

Ok, bear with me. All these cars are actually mine, ie I'm still making the payments and have my name on the titles.

Eldest daughters ride: '96 Honda Accord EX V6(no name:( ). Leather, the works. A pretty sweet car. This pic was taken b4 my daughter moved up to Michigan and b4 the accident. I'm told that it was put together again fairly nicely. I haven't seen pics of the damage or after the fixin'. Hmmm, not sure I want to. Title and insurance will be going to her in August when my eldest son get's his license:eek: . I can't wait to see my next insurance statement.

Younger daughter ride: '92 Acura Legend Cpe("Ack"). Leather, the works. A very nice car. First experience with an Acura AND an aluminum block. After we got it I went to change the oil and found that someone had overtightened the oil drain plug and then tried to helicoil it and finally just rtv'd it. Hmmmm, replacement pan was $400 the labor was :eek: :eek: . Have had some a/c problems but other than that pretty nice. Come August it will go to my son for 6 months to a year. My daughter wants a newer Accord or an Audi A4...98ish.
DSCF2156-1.jpg

Wife's ride: '03 Nissan Murano SL ("Scoot"). Funny story here. She was at the GMC dealer and had just driven a Envoy and called me. She wanted to buy it right there. I convinced her to go to the Nissan dealer and test drive the Murano. She called me again and said that it was the car for her. She absolutely loves the CVT. This car is smoooooooooth. I kind of wanted the HIDs and leather but she wanted fabric and no sunroof. Ok, her car so she got what she wanted. We all like the color, pewter. Scoot has been a great car but we're thinking of getting something newer. I'm trying to steer her towards a Subaru B9 Tribeca. Love the looks and the awd. The interior is stunning. Ah yes, notice the Georgia "G" plate on the front. Makes the car! Almost mandatory in my neck of the woods. Course we put it on for daughter #1....UGA grad:)

DSCF0197.jpg

Finally, my ride: '97 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd ("Max", of course:cool: ). Bought him in '00 when he was 3 yrs old with 49k. He's got about 124k now and still runs great. Leather and the works, well almost. He doesn't have the cold wx package....no heated mirrors or heated seats. A bit of a rare car in that he has a 5spd. A few mods: fsb; diamond cut clears; rewired fogs; rewired side markers but nothing major. Will be putting in some H&R springs and Tokico Illuminas shocks later on this month. I can't wait for that. Oh yes, if you look you'll see the Apple sticker on the passenger window...it's good for at least 10 hp! Anyway, these cars are really "Q" cars....sleepers. They handle well. They're built extremely well and the VQ engine is legendary. Now the bad part....my son wants it. A year in Ack and I'll hand it over. I've got to start thinking of a replacement. VW R32? Audi A3? How bout a Subaru WRX STI! Wooooooo Weeeeeee!!!!!

BTW, photo was taken by the "Great Green Ogeechee" Cheers

Nice I'm loving the rides! Especially the maxima. Are you on maxima.org by chance?

Expecting hate mail for this....

Ok, I'm anticipating some negative response to this post, but that's ok. I have an SVX, the precursor to the WRX and a much better car for touring. It has a 3.3l 230Hp DOHC engine. I would argue that the Subaru engines are some of the best out there, though in all honesty they don't compare to the RB33DETT for sheer output.

Another note: The little known CA18DE engine made by Nissan was one of the first to use direct ignition. The RB33DETT is essentially the same engine +2 cylinders. The Silva used it early on before in turbo trim (CA18DET) before the SR20DET was introduced. The CA18DE was discontinued not because it was a bad angine, but because it was too expensive to manufacture! It had a high parts count and required precision manufacturing tecniques that Nissan could not justify. I would class the CA18DE and CA18DET with those other engines even though its not a popular.

Ok, send the mail, I can take it!

What year M5? The V10?
