Last time I was at the rover dealership, was... a couple weeks ago and they didn't have any. I think the LR2 will do a good job to compete with the lexus RX and Acura RDX. I wonder if the Freelanders are reliable. All I know is that they weren't that nice of cars. We had them as loaner/curtesty cars a couple times and my mom referred to them as "the mistake". The LR2 interior looks well improved over the freelander and the exterior looks a lot better.
To classof2011. First sit in the drivers seat so you know what its like to drive a land rover- amazing visibility everywhere. the side windows go like almost down to like your legs almost. The windshield is flat with very little angle and the hood slopes down quickly. Its quite empowering. Then sit in the passenger seat, its the same deal. The second row isn't too interesting, but its a tad higher than the driver & passenger seating so you can kinda see over them and again there are really big side windows. The third row is where its cool, there is enough foot room and a foot well to make it comfortable for me (5'11"), its higher than the 1st and 2nd rows so you can still see out the windshield, you have huge windows on the side and because of the stepped roof line you get plenty of head room. What ties all this openess together though are the sunroof and the 2 other sunroofs (they don't open unfortunately) for the 2nd and 3rd row. Its really cool.
I saw a 2004 model at my parent's business and I loved the 3rd row windows. But now since they're all one piece, it looks even better! I'd like all the windows and the 2nd-3rd row moonroofs. Are they able to be built with DVD players? We use that a LOT in my mom's Navigator since we're always baby-sitting my nephew, her grandson. I think she likes the big SUV's since they have so much room, so she may actually look into an LR3.
