1) I saw an LR2 at the dealer today there was one on display out front. I didn't go up close to it, but reliability aside I think it could be a good contender against the Lexus RX and Acura RDX.

I don't think it holds a candle to either of them. I was there when they unveiled it for the US market at NAIAS. I like the exterior much more than the Japanese contenders, but the interior screamed more budget than anything else, and the materials didn't feel or look as nice as the Lexas or Acura.
It is a great effort though, and nice to see Land Rover in this market .
Awesome goat!
Does it have the LS1, or the LS2?
Personally, I find the LR3 & LR2 a little more appropriate for 'compensators' than off-roaders.
I've had a 1994 D90 (posted in this thread a few years ago, I think), 1994 Disco (still have), a 1998 50th Anniv. Range Rover, and a 1969 IIa 88" Bugeye. Anyone who thinks an LR3 is the pinnacle of off-road adventure experience clearly does not do real off-roading. An unmodified D90 is pretty capable, but no one really goes off road, especially out west, without mods.
The Series truck was mostly like driving a tractor while getting hit in the back with a shovel. It was cooler than anything else on the road, of course.
I got rid of the D90 and picked up a diesel F-350 because Land Rover doesn't make a practical farm vehicle for the US. Yes, I know you can "build" a diesel crew cab 110 or 130 and have friends who have done that, but try and fit a 4x8 sheet or 30 bales of hay in the bed of said pickup or tow 15,000 lbs - you can't.
It's a 2006 with a turbocharger from STS turbo.Skidded off the road already once in the snow.

Pushrods FTW
I had a 2000 Corvette with a built LS1 putting out 590hp. I was going to procharge it, but I sold it.
I'm interested in dyno results, if you've taken it there yet.
I love goats.![]()
D1's brown color and wheels
It's Armada Gold - I've only seen one or two others of the same in the states. It has the advantage of matching every color of mud known to man.![]()
My brother just got an 89 Corolla in near perfect condition for $600. It's spotless on the inside too, the prevoous owner must have taken great care of it. I drove it around the block a few times and it runs great. Now only if he had money for insurance and registartion.![]()
If I didn't have any support of my parents, there would be no way I could buy a car, pay for gas, and pay for insurance if I worked all summer at a typical teen job. Even with a car for free there is no way I could afford it even with no other expenses. My insurance must be crazy- 16 year old BOY in CT driving a SUV with very HIGH REPAIR COSTS.
It is good that you appreciate what your parents do for you. Many people (some on here) don't!.
That being said, I fail to understand parents that buy cars like yours, then complain about the cost of keeping their kid on the road (this is not directed at you or your family, just some people I know).
If you are going to buy a car for your kid and want it to be less of a dent in your pocket book, don't buy them a truck, SUV, or anything that would be classified as a "premium brand" (including cars). That is why there are cars like Cavaliers, Sentras, Accents, and Escorts.

I'm going through this. My friend got his MS degree last month and started with my company this week. He has no car, license, or anything. Trying to get him licensed here in UT by the end of the month. (We're both from California.) Since he hasn't been driving he saved his meager wages from his college job for years, so he has enough to get a decent car though.![]()

You could pay for it, but it would be tight. I'm 17 and I pay insurance, gas, maintenance, etc. The only cost that my mom paid for was the purchase of the car and the registration fees. The rest is all me. I manage to get by, even with an insurance bill of about $150 a month.
By the way, that FM transmitter is super overpriced. I got my iPod interface (direct cable to the CD changer port) for less than that, and I considered even that to be expensive just to listen to my iPod in the car.
Reminds me a bit of the Range Stormer concept.But..
The enormous doors have always bothered me. Michael Scott (from The Office) has one.
