You don't know about the Alfa GTAs then...
FWD and performance does not compute. Warning warning overload.![]()
FWD and performance does not compute. Warning warning overload. The Camry with the 268 HP 3.5 V6 does 0-60 in an impressive 5.8 seconds( C&D) and the Aura XR with the 252 HP 3.6 V6 does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds(R&T). Which probably can be contributed to the 251 lb of torque at 3200 RPM compared to the 248 lb of torque at 4700 RPM of the Camry's 3.5 V6. That is the Aura's only advantage over the Camry is the torque. Anyway...... as I said FWD and performance does not go together. RWD or AWD is the best for the best performance possible. If Toyota wants to be #1 and appeal to ALL buyers they need a RWD vehicle that is not a Lexus.
FWD and performance does not compute.
I have posted in this thread before, but i got out with some friends the other weekend with the cameras specifically to take pictures of the car
hope you like cos im well pleased with them![]()

Don't take things sooooo seriously. I am just saying putting giant chrome wheels that don't match the car look silly.
Ford Focus RS/ST, VW GTI, Alfa Romeo, Mini Cooper (especially the old ones, any little car that can beat GT cars around a track is performance to me), Vauxhall Astra VXR, I could go on.
FWD doesn't make a car instantly incapable of performing well. A properly sorted FWD car can be a fantastic drive, and even quicker than RWD in a few situations.
I think it looks awesome. Besides, eye of the beholder...
The jeep's wheels come off in the fall, and go back on in the spring. Road salt would pit the chrome in an instant.![]()
What combo do you run in the winter?

Not a fan of all you people with "SUVs" or whatever you call them over there. Not cool at all. It's ok if you actually go off-road, but then I guess SUV doesn't fit the name...
You'd love America. The roads are infested with them like a disease.A lot of them flying by at 80-85mph in the fast lane while talking on the cell phone. I don't know what the laws are now, but for awhile, you could get huge tax write offs for buying really big SUVs if you stated that 50% of the time it was used for private business. I think this is what really led to so many SUVs in america. Now it's become more of a fad. I never really understood why people actually enjoy driving them on paved roads.
from my brief time behind a range rover, i must say the view is a lot nicer up high (rather than my bumper view in my TSX). im sure if europe had cheaper gas prices, bigger and less windy roads, and modern infrastructure, suv's would thrive as well.
in japan, vans are really popular amongst the kids. they like to pimp their astro vans like west coast customs.
Hahaha Land Rovers for life!

I don't think its a valid argument to say SUV's are bad because SOME people drive 85mph on with their cell phones.
I could generalize that Honda Civics and Jettas and other small foreign cars are bad because they race on the highway.
I wasn't trying to make an argument based on that. It was just a statement that happened to be in the same paragraph.I'm not saying SUVs are inherently bad. If you need one for purposes that a regular car doesn't provide, then that's great. But that's not the case for 80% of them on the road in the US. Most SUVs in America aren't even built to drive off road. It's the whole "bigger is better" mentality for the most part. I think land rovers are very purposeful vehicles. A Cadillac Escalade with 24" rims is not.
I don't know... Maybe they are big, easy targets.I don't see what all the fuss is about SUVs. Sure they're gas guzzlers but so is a Ford Mustang with a 5.0 V8 engine. Nobody ever complains about that. And yes SUVs are big, but so is a mini-van or something like an Audi A6 Avant. What's the big deal?![]()
