For such a closeup I’m impressed with the portrait mode. There is a bit of a halo blur that I’m not fond of in the background of this shot but really, overall it seems cleaner than the 13PM

Either there isn't any difference between an iPhone 12 Pro, 13 Pro and the 14 Pro or most people need to learn to be more creative when posting their iPhone 14 Pro pictures because so far I'm not seeing anything that impresses me from the before mentioned phones.

Oh, and before anyone flames me. I just received my 14 Pro Max. Just so no one thinks I'm being jealous.... lol

So show us how creative you are :)
I didn’t think this group was being judged on creativity.. we are exploring a new setup.

Would someone explain just a bit to me about the resolution, raw, 2x .. if I shoot in jpg not raw the images are 12mp so if I want a 24mp image I have to shoot raw and convert right? It the event they were showing that scene where you can crop in and still have a good 12mp image, so that has to be done in raw…. Am I on the right track?
So then the 2x zoom mode seems really sharp but that’s just the engine processing really well..

I’m trying to be sure I know what to pick. I only have 256mb and I’m no pro and not printing large so of course I don’t need 48mp.. but I want to be prepared to go there if I need it. And what about low light.. better to shoot those in raw to get the better range to adjust if needed?

I used to shoot raw with my dslr back in the early days but I’m not sure I’m understanding what this system is doing.
TIA

The only way to get a 48mp image is by shooting RAW and activating 48mp mode. If you want a 24mp image or anything, the only way to get would be shooting raw and resizing.

Regarding the 2x zoom, it’s simply using the middle portion of the 48mp image (with no pixel binning). If you shoot 48mp and crop you’d get the same result.

For low light I’d use 12mp as it will reduce noise to a certain level.
