Man this phone is BIGGGGG.
Does anybody use skins? The fabric case makes this even bigger than it already is. :(

the fabric cases make the phone extra thick extra large and even worse they're slippery like a wet bar of soap. that case looks super cool and very unique but it makes me drop the phone more with a fabric case on or slip out of my hands faster with that case.

Best case is the Xlevel or clear TPU

I agree with you guys. I got the fabric case and have taken it off after less than 24 hours. It's nice but does add enough bulk to make it feel almost too big. I have a clear tpu case I got from Amazon that will get me by until I can find a better long term solution. Thinking of a totallee or mnml case.

I always use Dbrand skins on any phone I get now. I can't stand cases but like to have a little scratch protection from setting my phone down on my desk, counter, etc. With that being said, I do keep a case around for when I'm out and about and think I have a chance to drop my phone. But that's usually the thinnest TPU case I can find. Otherwise, my phone's are naked outside of using a Dbrand skin.

Only issue I found using cases with no microfiber lining is that dirt and grime get inside the case and causes abrasions. Have you run into this or no?

I’ve run into that, yes. I prefer to get something with a microfiber lining when I can get it. For iPhones it’s easy to find clear films for the back, so that’s what I use so I can use a greater variety of cases.

I use the Google fabric case for my Pixel 2 and didn’t think it was slippery, but then I use a Caudabe clear case on my Xr and people complain that’s like holding onto a bar of soap but I’ve had no problems so far.

Wow it’s so funny what people get used to. I thought the Pixel 3XL looked so nice and streamlined and petite in person.:Do_O

I’m a very small woman. Maybe I have large frog hands or something.

Turns out my Pixel 3 I bought on eBay was reported stolen so now I have to return it. For the love of Pete

Man that is a major bummer. Swappa has some people selling off their BOGO 50% off black Friday ones right now. You can get a new in box 3 with 64 gb for around 675-680.

No kidding. Coming from the 8 plus, the XL is lighter, smaller, and more comfortable, with a much larger screen. In use the differences are subtle, but all slight improvements. I think going back would likely be more dramatic.

With both it their cases, the XL is about 1/8" (.125") shorter and narower. I should have photographed the difference before selling the 8 plus. I was surprised that it was larger than the XL footprint by that much. Good trade up overall.

I’ve been staring at uh...something;)...through its wrapper in its box (to check for shipping damage). One thing I’ve learned from seeing ...something... in person is to not comment with too definite or strong of an opinion over on the Samsung S10 topic about where they might stick that damn dot thingy for the camera.

I’ve learned you can be really irked by a concept, based on the principle of the idea. But when you actually see or deal with it, perceptions soften if there are enough good things to grab your attention.

Folks talking cases...I purchased the leather one from Google when I picked out the phone. Made by Bellroy. Works, is confortable, not slippery, not too big. I also put on an AMfilm screen cover (the best IMHO).

On whole I am very satisfied, but I am a big linux geek and think of OSX as Linux with a great window manager and build my OSX boxes myself so it may be a mindset. I also don't use iCloud or apples proprietary messenger product, instead using dropbox, regular SMS texting and the google web interface for the desktop (messages.android.com).

The LTE speeds on this thing are shocking, especially in urban areas.

My wife, the non-techie of the family has actually expressed interest in using a pixel 3. First time ever. I think her XR is within the return period, too.

My wife REFUSES to use iOS. I tried to convert her a few times, and she won't do it. And she isn't techy at all. But she loves her S9 and FitBit Versa combo.

Now that I've used my Pixel 3 as my daily driver for a few days, I'm really liking the phone. I'd just need to find a better case for it and find a good WearOS device as I prefer to keep my phone on silent, but I'll miss calls and messages without a connected watch. That's something where the Apple Watch that's still on my wrist unfortunately doesn't help.

I have had my 3 XL less than a week and I love it. I immediately updated to the December update so I didn't get to experience any of the pre December problems. There's actually nothing about this phone I don't like. My biggest problem is finding a case I like. I went back to the fabric and it's growing on me but I have a mint colored Spigen thin fit arriving tomorrow.

I usually wait a few weeks to sell my iPhone when I get a new Android but I sold my X after I had this thing two days. I can't even think of anything to complain about really. If I was forced to come up with something it would be battery life. It's good but not great .

Anyone on the fence should jump at these deals that Google is having. If you liked previous Pixels you will love this one .
