Got the December security patch
I have been getting a lot of app crashes lately on my Xs Max too....iOS was crashing like crazy on my iPhone X. Stability has been problematic to say the least.

Me, too. Nothing visibly different but it sounds like Google has made some significant updates.
Yup. Complete springboard crashes where the screen goes black with a loading spinning wheel.I have been getting a lot of app crashes lately on my Xs Max too....
Two delays on this end. Was due last week. Then supposedly today but last night heard it would be tomorrow. I have a lot of stuff coming tomorrow just when I need to pick up the kids. Last week my husband was able to do that for me so of course everything got delayed to this week. I feel your pain. I do have solid tracking info now so I can see where it is. I think the delay was with Fed Ex. They keep sending me notice that the wild fires in particular have caused them problems. Packages are probably clogging routes they never had to travel before and slowing down regular package traffic.People on Reddit are reporting much improved speaker performance too (re: rattling issue)
On my personal front my phone was expected to arrive today finally after ordering on November 16th. It was out for delivery with FedEx and the status just changed to "UNKNOWN" and please contact FedEx for additional details. I almost don't wanna know what they could possibly tell me...
I still have dark mode enabled on mine, but the option is shaded out and won't let me turn it off in call settings anymore.Anyone else lose the dark mode option after a recent Google Phone app update? I've been running it in dark mode since it's release but after it's latest play store update it's reverted to the stock white theme with no option for dark mode.
Or don’t be even a late adopter Black Friday shopper either.
Oh I wanted to know if y’all are getting a lot of app crashes and bugs on your Pixel 3 or 3XL’s. I’ve had a horrible time of it with iOS on my iPad mini 4 and my Xr. Crash Bandicoot is my nickname for iOS now. “Apps be crashing”. I reboot. It’s on multiple devices so I know it’s the OS not the device.
I haven’t really had a lot of time to get reacquainted with Android Pie on my Pixel 2. Dealing with a lot of poop, so just have had no time to set everything up. So my Pixel 2 is charged but just serving as backup right now. And the display is so small and flickery I really wouldn’t be doing a lot of stuff on it anyway.
If I were going for a Pixel for myself it would be 3XL. But even that one, I don’t think my eyes could handle the OLED.

I'm so happy that iPhone sales are low and not doing well. Same with Samsung not selling to expectations.
Because smartphones have gotten out of control with pricing. A cellphone shouldn't cost $1,000+ that's insanity. And a loaded iPhone XS Max is what ? $1,400 ? Holy crap.
I always thought the $750 range is where flagships phones should be at.
Maybe with the phones selling for over $1,000, and not doing well, will make manufacturers rethink these prices?
I guess that will all depends on profits. Even if they are selling less, if profits are up then they may not care.I'm so happy that iPhone sales are low and not doing well. Same with Samsung not selling to expectations.

Yep, my Xr and my iPad mini 4 have been crashing several times a day. You XS and Max owners have more RAM than these devices do and I think some of these apps are eating up the RAM. They have to be open for awhile. It’s my Apple News App as well as individual news apps. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. Safari. Amazon app. I get some freezes too.really? I've had my Xs Max since launch day and it's been running phenomenally well! I honestly don't think I've had a single app crash. and I have a lot of apps on my phone.
Also, I got my wife the Pixel 3 XL on black Friday to replace her laggy, slow Pixel 2 XL and it seems quite a bit better than the P2 XL, at least in terms of screen, haptics, and loud speakers. Time will tell if it slows down as bad as her P2 XL did.

really? as I told GrumpyMom, my Xs Max has been rock solid. No crashing whatsoever. It's incredibly smooth and fluid on a constant basis. I must have a unicorn here.. I'll make sure to not do something to rock the boat...
*knocks on wood*

This phone was set up as new. That was a pain in the butt to do but I wanted a clean slate. It has very few apps loaded on it. Less than 30 I think, and out of those only about 8 in regular daily use. For instance I have Twitter but I only read that a handful of times a month. Reddit...usually just once a week.
Animal Crossing just implemented a massive change to gameplay so it’s not surprising that would be freezing or crashing. But I will have the keyboard on my Xr and my iPad mini 4 freeze on me when I visit this forum. I can’t select text for copying and pasting or just deleting with any great confidence it will work anymore. It does not matter if I am on the Xr oe the iPad mini 4 and it doesn’t matter if I’m in email or on this forum on Safari. Both devices sometimes run hot now, too. And the batteries are draining fast. My Xr was a battery beast and now it’s noticeably less beasty.
My husband has an XS Max and he has no complaints same as you.
I wish I knew what was going on. I’m getting really sick of this song and dance with Apple. This happened to my 7 Plus, too. I first got that phone and it was awesome. I loved it. Then less than a month in, it got an iOS update and the battery drained fast and the phone kept overheating. It never ran right again, though several OS updates helped improve things. But it was never like it was those first few weeks.
I wanted to keep it two years, because it was a wonderful surprise gift from my husband. But the warranty was up on it and it was acting rather lemony so I traded it in for the silver 8 Plus, which in turn I traded for this Xr.
I love the hardware of the Xr. I love the yellow. I love the size of it. The weight and the display is fine. The quality and workmanship is beautiful. I was so very happy and then the iOS started dragging me back down a road I do not want to be on again.
I think I saw on the MR front page a while back that even with iphone sales slowing, Apple was still on track for record profits.
Apple has never been about volume sales as long as they can keep their premium margins and profits.
They don't mind selling less volume at higher selling points and keep high profits.
In my two weeks with the XS Max, it was among the quickest and most fluid phones I’ve used. As I mentioned before, the only reason I returned it was because the cost and a few limitations of iOS.
Side note with the iPhone, hopefully Apple recognizes from the disappointing sales of the new iPhones that they went overboard on the pricing. Apple fans are fine with paying a premium for their devices, but they overshot this time.
