Pixel 3/Pixel 3 XL

I am kind of kicking around the idea of picking up the 3 to replace my s7 edge with after the first of the year, maybe with some slightly better pricing. My s7, well. I can't stand it. I barely use it. I mean it works, it is to the point it babysits itself too much and I can't stand the bloat and how the weather app (weather underground) likes to open itself, probably false touches. And I want something new. And I am thinking about ditching sprint and moving back to at&t to kind of consolidate lines and have the freedom to play musical unlocked phones again by sim card swapping.

I do almost everything on my fi powered xl 2 other then use the device for talking with people. My xl 2 is the device I reach for the most. As well as my pixel book now. The pixel line has spoiled me on other phones.

Meh, I kind of stopped watching Drew. And a few others, big channels at that. And diverted my attention to other stuff I am interested on YT. Most of these reviewers just seem to hold on to a device long enough to push out their agenda and give or sell or return the device. Its all ratings and numbers. YT is probably partly to thank for this.

I know, kinda cynical, but I think I am on the edge of over saturated phone market burnout.

iOS 12 is better than iOS 11 but there are still a ton of issues. My wife and I both had springboard crashes once or twice a week.

Yeah... he just seemed so unnecessarily angry throughout the entire video, though he had some good criticism. I’ve never heard of this guy. I was pretty appalled by the video.

Well, he is an admitted Apple Sheep (Call’s himself this all the time) and has hated the Pixel line, but he does like the Galaxy line (especially the Note), and even enjoyed the Razer Phone.

The video quality from my Pixel 2 which I'm actually using now is good.

What is driving me nuts is auto brightness got turned back on at some point and it works too aggressively.

Anyway, whoa I just dropped in and saw the article here that Apple says bendy iPad Pros aren't a defect. Sorry that's what I consider poor design.

I am sitting here in shock at the gall. This is unexpected. It's giving me a lot to think about. Especially in light of the fact autocorrect isn't working properly on my Xr. I've got overheating with the native news app along with third party news apps. I can't use the top level edition of iPhone at all without neurological impairment.

I won't be getting a 3XL for myself, but I'll be seeing it in action soon enough. I hope it makes a better impression on me that it did on Tailosive Tech guy.

At the very least I'm getting a nice extended season on my Pixel 2. Yay Snowball!

Yeah, the pixel camera is very impressive, but my iPhone XS is my go to simply because of how well it does video. So if I’m doing something with the family, the iPhone gives me the option of both. The only thing missing is a 360 camera.

The 360 camera on my essential phone awesome, I loved taking 360 videos, but it needs to somehow be built into the phone.

I really like the AR Stickers. I just did a lengthy hospital visit and this fat cat did a great job cheering up the patient with its antics on the neighboring empty bed. The patient is elderly and absolutely astounded by AR. I am pretty impressed, myself. When you see it in action in person it’s rather uncanny.

Oddly enough my AirPods refused to pair (or even show up) on my 3 XL... I sold them tonight and ordered a pair of Pixel Buds that will arrive tomorrow. But, at least Google gives you an adapter in the box. . . as well as a fast charger, usb-c headphones, etc. etc.

Weird. I use my airpods on my 3 XL daily and had no problem with pairing and they work just as good as with an iPhone almost.

Yeah it was really strange. My Bose QC 35 paired perfectly, but no joy with the pods. Not a big deal I guess, though i would have liked them to work. Pixel Buds have mixed reviews, I guess I will find out today.

And you pressed and held the small button on the case to get them in to pairing mode? That is weird, my air pods work fine with all my Android phones, including the pixel 3.

Yep! They worked with my note, and then re-paired with my iPad Pro. No clue on this one.

I feel like the tech industry is burning itself out. Nothing feels truly fresh anymore, and these YTers really just don’t have anything valuable to say at this point. I still love MKBHD and Jonathan Morrison, but mostly unfollowed everyone else. There’s just no point in watching, what essentially is, a remix of the same video I just watched, saying the same things, about the same devices, with the same generic conclusions. How many of these tech videos end with “really it comes down to what you prefer” ... like, no sh-t.

Length of time. And price. I bought the NotPink 3XL on 12/6 and it was delayed. In the middle of the delay, the price of the device dropped $150 so I bought a Black one and it arrived two days later. Needless to say, I'm just going to return the NotPink as it arrived today.

Yeah, same boat as you for sure. I’m totally burnt out on it. Which is why I’m mentally leaning toward staying with Apple for mobile. I’m kinda tired of playing this game anymore. They all basically do the same thing and what I need, at this point. And I completely agree with your take on reviewers. I think that’s partly to blame on the stagnation of the industry itself, and laziness.

Makes sense. I'd rather have had the white one myself, but the lead time was 4 weeks on shipping. By the way, did you go to U of I?
