Anyone's home button disappear? Couldn't even swipe up only had the < button which closed Twitter where I noticed it first. Also seen it gone in the app drawer

Rebooted and seems to brought it back for now.

Hi there, I do consider finally switching from apple to android (never ever had any other smartphone than iphone), would you recommend pixel 3 or 3a or samsung s10e as the starter?

I've arranged the return of my 3a XL. Yet I still have my P30 Pro up for sale and looking at a new 64gb 3XL for £500. And a mint second hand 128gb for £560 with 3 cases.....
[doublepost=1559383424][/doublepost]I thought I posted this in the 3a thread. Although I talk about both models so I suppose it doesn't really matter!

This camera...

Running Beta 3 right now and dark mode is awesome! Full system integration is great and should get beta as more apps catch up (Facebook I'm looking at you).

If you bought it unlocked from the Google store then it will work on all carriers.
I have 2 bought unlocked from the Google store using a Verizon sim.

Yes on TMobile—mine is on a TMo line. Can’t confirm for Verizon but considering their partnership, I’d wager yes.

thanks now i just need to figure out if i will stay on t-mobile or switch to verizon

One of the best unnoticed things about Android Q is that the really time cloud cover is back. It went away for quite some time.

To clarify, I mean the Marvelous Marble wallpaper. Just saw my attachment didn't work. Lol

Interesting observation. I always thought choosing "Boosted" was the way to go under display options, but Adaptive looks much brighter and really pops.

For anyone in this thread that has owned both a Pixel and a Pixel 3a, can you answer a few questions for me:

  • Is the camera EXACTLY the same?
  • Would you say the performance gap is massive or pretty close?
  • Is it worth it in your opinion to get a 3/3XL this late in the cycle vs getting a 3a and waiting for a possible Pixel 4?

Struggling of where to go next as my OP7 experience is over and dont want to go back to ios....yet :(

  • Is the camera EXACTLY the same? yes, except there's not a co-processor on board... so it does take a little longer to process HDR+, etc. - but not really noticeable unless you're snapping 20+ pics in a row
  • Would you say the performance gap is massive or pretty close? pretty close
  • Is it worth it in your opinion to get a 3/3XL this late in the cycle vs getting a 3a and waiting for a possible Pixel 4? my opinion is 3a and waiting on the 4. but just IMO... I like the feel of the 3a better than the 3 (the back on the 3a doesn't feel plastic at all and feels really nice in the hand... but definitely doesn't feel fragile like the glass-backed 3. I do like that the 3a is slightly bigger than the 3 which just helps with in hand usage and typing. I haven't tried the 3aXL but did own a 3 XL for a time and did like that size but I'm starting to scale back size of phones I use.... again, all this is opinion but it's where I land :)

see above. And watch reviews too if you haven't already. they tend to compare to the regular 3 quite often. the only thing I really miss from my 3 -> 3a is wireless charging.

Thank you for your answers. I was looking for that real world experience of the details you presented. I had a 3a for less then a week and it was much too small for my typing experience so would get a 3aXL most likely just for that piece.

As you can see in my OP7 thread, the camera is a huge need of mine and for my other social media needs the 3a will probably be just fine.

I just wasn't sure if ponying up cash for a 3aXL made sense when I can probably find a used 3XL on Swappa or somewhere but used, less warranty.

To answer your question, the 3 is definitely better in most areas with the exception of battery life, which I'm averaging more like 7 hours SOT compared to 8 on the 3a.

It's all about if you can get the 3 at a good price. I had some trade in money and Best Buy matched the Google Store $200 off promo, so for wireless charging, water proofing, and slightly faster processing, it was worth it. But it's not $300/$400 worth it. You should be fine with the 3a if you can absolutely handle not having wireless charging and water proofing.

I'd say get one used on Swappa... No reason to pay full price. Just make sure the swappa seller is able to provide you the Google store order number and receipt for warranty purposes. I personally will be getting the 4 (maybe 4XL) but think a used 3a XL or 3XL is worth it now until then.

They normally do price match, but they were difficult at first. I just kindly told them that I'll return my 3a and but from the Google Store if they don't price match.

Has anyone done a water test with the 3a line sort of like D2D has done with the OP7 line? Even though they aren't IP rated, I am curious if the 3a has any ability to waterproof like the Pixel 3 line.
