So so so lame if that's all the front two cameras are for.

And again, the back camera doesn't need dual cameras due to Google's leading edge AI and visual core, but the front cameras do? How does that make any sense?

I think it helps that the back camera generally is bigger than the front.

Be that as it may, Google is prioritizing the wrong thing.

Just like they prioritized front facing speakers instead of a better designed screen and device.

The screen is going to have bigger issues than the design if they go with LG.

Also, how much do we all want to bet that I’ll end up buying a Pixel 3XL anyway?

It's about the same way for me as well. Every release cycle:
"That's horrible! Why would they do that?"
"Preordered! Can't wait to get it! Feature ___ looks amazing!"
"Ugh. It's so buggy! Sent it back. Won't ever buy another ____ again."

Rinse and repeat.

I've said all along, as long as there isn't some catastrophically bad decision from Google on the Pixel 3 regular, I'll likely pre order.

I will never order a Pixel 3 XL. I can promise you that.

[doublepost=1535085986][/doublepost]I feel like the star of this year's show will be the Pixel Watch. It's clear it won't be the Pixel 3 smartphones. They're very incremental updates.

The Galaxy Watch is actually pretty impressive. I wonder what about the pixel watch will make it stand out.

It really concerns me that there is nothing about face unlock in these leaks.

That would make the two front facing cameras solely for selfies. If true, that would be yet another baffling and poor decision from Google.
No way man! How can that mutated notch not house a high security Face ID system that's much faster than Apple's version?

It could be the only saving grace for that hideous decision to bombard the front of their 3rd phone with such a deep bezel/notch combo.

Really cannot believe it won't have a class-leading Face ID...

Doesn’t even sound like there will be any Face ID at all. Let along class leading.

We won’t know what the Pixel 3XL will be like until we see it in the final release. I’d wait and be disappointed when it comes.

Top class AI, along with a second wide angle lens would have made for a killer rear camera set up. Oh well.

What's the real story on the 3 XL screen size ? I keep reading people say it will be a giant 6.7" display, but that the overall footprint of the phone itself will be nearly identical to the Pixel 2 XL size.

So, I can't see how the screen size can get that much larger ? I understand it will be bigger, but from 6.0" to 6.7" would have to make the 3 XL phone much bigger overall than the current 2 XL.

I'm thinking it's not really 6.7". Don't account for the notch, because isn't that just for the time and network bars ? Not actual useable screen like a full page website going up there too ?

The measurement would be diagonal. The usable area is probably about the same as Pixel 2 XL.

This image lists 6.71" diagonal and actual measurement (for the screen itself) of 154 mm x 73 mm.

That's a big ass phone if it has that chin and a 6.71" display.

Have you seen the comparisons to the Note 9? It's about the same size, maybe a hair shorter and probably a bit wider:

Note in this image above, the Pixel 3 XL is sitting a little lower than the Note 9.

It seems close to the P20, too:

It's a big phone, for sure.

Interesting, I would have assumed larger, but that's not too bad then.

Man, this leak is awfully bad. When you're seeing "unboxing" videos over a month in advance, something went way wrong.

It probably would have leaked by now. Especially with this recent stream of leaks. It will likely ust have Trusted Face again.

Well, that makes my decision to go with the iPhone 2018 a lot easier. I think I may only consider a budget android device otherwise if I want to go the more affordable route.

Wow this is like the iPhone 4 leak. The Pixel 3 XL was first leaked a week or two ago, and the official announcement is Oct. 4th with public release end of October.

A good 2 months before release, we see it in full glory, nothing hidden anymore. And most of the Android fans don't seem happy with it.

What is Google thinking now? They've got to be beyond pissed. And per all the hardware sites, and tech forums, it's getting criticized for it's design, and getting lukewarm reception. This will not go over well.

Lol, my thoughts exactly. I hate the front, but will probably give it a shot for pure android and the camera.

Normally I agree that I'd usually succumb to a lack of will power but given what it's likely to cost, my Pixel 2 camera is so good already (and no additional lens on the 3), my Pixel is my secondary device and to be blunt, the 3 XL is hideously ugly, I would be better off spending the likely $900+ on a stand alone camera that would be even better than the 3.

As much as I’ve historically been a Google phone guy, if I had to use a single Android phone for my daily driver, I’d get a Note 9. And that’s saying something as I generally despise Samsung’s hardware.
