I am being a bit over the top funny on how much I hate iOS, so please don't take super serious here :) Even though I think it's a ********* smartphone OS, but that's me.

But as far as the Pixel 2 lagging ? My Wife and both have the Pixel 2 XL, bought them last December, and fast forward today, it's really as smooth and fluid as the day we got them, no lag, no hiccups, no freeze ups, or anything. "It just works"

And now the Pixel 3 XL, will have the SD845 + 6GB RAM, I expect it to be smooth as hot butter.

Is stock Android "boring" ? Sure yes. But I don't care, I rather have a plain stripped down OS, that runs smooth fluid and fast, as opposed to a OS like Lagwiz, that has almost too much going on, too many apps, too much bloatware, that bogs the phone down over time. I like a clean OS like stock Android, that performs at warp speed, and smooth as running water of the faucet.

All leaks point to 4GB.

Also, I think lagwiz is overstated.

6GB RAM

Other sites and rumors as of today 09-19 are referencing 6GB now.

I think the 4GB rumor came from this screenshot.

I think the Pixel 3 XL notch won't be as big of an issue if it can be disabled in software. When I played around with a LG G7, once I turned off the notch in settings I thought it was much better. In that use case it really does become a second screen since you have full use of the screen below it. With OLED it would be even better since you truly wouldn't see that there is a notch. You'd just have the time and notification icons floating above the screen, and the bezels would look proportionate.

If you can't disable the notch, then there is no way I'd go near it, personally. But I'm more interested in the smaller Pixel 3 at this time, anyway.
We're at odds here. The notch isn't the issue for me. It's how pronounced it is. They just needed to stealth it up a bit & it'd look much more modern. Many phones that cost less have a minute notch or no notch at all with zero bezel.

Why Google why?...

I’m not upgrading Snowball the Pixel 2 because of the loss of value involved in giving up a perfectly good device with a very fortunate 2 year extended warranty. I’m still pinching myself over that bit of good luck!

However, as I enjoy rotating my phones for their turn on the Samsung wireless charging puck, I can’t help but feel a twinge of wistfulness in anticipation of the announcement of wireless charging for the Pixel 3.

I didn’t unpack my tech bag after my most recent “vacation”. I came back exhausted and a bit busted up. So I have just the puck set up for phone charging on my nightstand. So poor Snowball has been without a charge for a couple of weeks now. I keep wishing I could just fling it onto the puck for a charge. Once you start using these pucks and pads it’s kind of annoying having to hunt for the different chargers for each phone or tablet.

I still have all these Bluetooth headphones that need to be charged on the older small USB chargers. I forget what the standard is called. I’m still not sure if it’s safe to use a Samsung USB-C charger on a Pixel 2 and vice versa. A wireless puck makes it all so much easier.

But I miss Snowball so I’ll start unpacking my chargers and setting them up on my desk again. Joy.

Why not copy the Essential notch or tear drop notch on the OnePlus 6T ? Those are very minimal notches, and actually look futuristic.

But the Pixel 3 XL notch, looks like something from two years ago.

And then the bezels on the smaller Pixel 3, it looks like a phone from a couple years ago too. Why can't they make it near bezeless like the iPhone X ? Would look so much better being compact and smaller overall footprint, with minimal bezles like the iPhone X.

It looks like they wanted to make room for the front facing speaker inside the notch. I guess we will find out in a few days.

I stole some of their Googley art to make my latest dog avatar. I had a dog like this when I was 16-31. Great dog. This one looks like him as a puppy. I’m eager to see their announcements in a couple of weeks. I’m trying to be positive. Even if I’m not able to get one for myself it will be fun to see if Google can advance these phones further than leaks would indicate.

Although I created this topic, I am officially not considering the Pixel 3 anymore. I hope it is better looking that than the leaks and Google's QC is better this time by. It should be a great device for those who purchase it. Enjoy.

Do you know what really annoys me more than anything?
It's that the notifications stop at just 2 in the top bar.
Because the time has been moved over to the top left, there is only enough room for 2 notification icons and a dot, which means there's more to see.

I liked it when all the app icons were along the top. What's more annoying is that my OG Pixel does it on the P beta too, so looks like the regular 3 will have it even without the notch.
Stupid, dumb decision.

The all-white glossy/matte back looks pretty amazing imo. I'm pretty neutral on the notch at this point. It's there, might as well accept it.
[doublepost=1537557725][/doublepost]I also really don't understand this movement to time being on the left side. I much prefer it on the right along with all the other persistent icons.

The all white is looking the best mainly because it keeps the two-tone shading relatively subtle. I might have preferred the black more if the two-tone was less contrasty. It'll be interesting to see the other color options in official images, but right now, I'm leaning white.

Gonna post this here since I’m a google pixel xl owner looking to upgrade to either a google pixel 3 or iPhone-

Went to the Apple store today to check out the phones. Here are my take aways.

XR- Off the table. Compared the display of an iPhone 8 to the iPhone X’s and pixel xl...horrible. I can’t go backwards let alone pay $800 for the ability to. The 720p (or slightly more) lcd vs my 2 year old pixel xl display looked bad. In a 6.1 inch form, it’s gonna really show. I pulled up the same sites on the 3 devices and the text was blurry on the iPhone 8 (same display as XR). The pictures had a lot of detail lost on the led display.

IPhone Xs- Nice one handed device, but a tad too narrow. If I was to buy one of the 3 iPhones, it would be the Xs.

Iphone Max- TOO LARGE! Unless you plan to NEVER use your phone one handed or hate the ability to quickly shoot off a text to someone etc...or you have Michael Jordan hands. Lol. This phone is just too big. I love the size if I was looking for something to replace my ipads use at home, but for a phone...hmm too much. As I thought prior to release, the corners are just too hard to reach for notifications etc.

Iphone Max/Xs Issues- The good, which had my interest peaked the most, was a pinkish color. It’s hard to describe but it’s like a white glass panel shaded with a blush gold color and it often looks pink...and sometime white? It’s weird! On the contrary the white x/max looked really dull in my opinion. I was a bit thrown back because things have a way of looking amazing in an Apple store under their lighting. I was hoping for a bright white back. Now, on to display, the displays were yellow tinted when compared to my pixel xl. Now this could have been a setting (True Tone) but it just didn’t look very good compared to my pixel. Not as sharp? Text looked dull vs a more bold on my pixel.

The worst thing I found while checking out various display units...mind you these have been out less than an entire day, every single iPhone xs/max had scratches around the charging port. I can’t tell you how many times I have fumbled plugging my pixel xl into the charger and yet, no scratches. Some of these devices had some pretty bad nasty scratches around the port. I checked the year old iPhone 8’s with aluminum and no scratches could be found. The stainless steel is WAY too delicate for mobile use.

My trip went from, man I hope I don’t get too weak and buy one today to...ugh... pixel 3?

So....the YouTube channel Front Page Tech has been pretty reliable with Pixel 3 leaks. Apparently, it is confirmed there is 3 third phone that is completely bezel less that won't be called a pixel. Seems it might be made by Xiaomi (I believe it was announced that they were partnering with Xiaomi on a future phone in April)..I'll update further once his video comes out.

Edit 1: video hasn't been released yet but based on the Pixel Ultra Leaks and that Google is working with Xiaomi it might be the Mi Mix 3 design Google is using. Mi Mix 3 rumored to be released in October.

Edit 2: the 3rd phone should be released before Christmas and it will be a budget phone. Seems weird their budget phone would be the one that's bezel less? I give up, wake me up when it's October lol.

Just watched the latest front page tech video about the Pixel and design team being fired etc. Makes a lot of sense. I just hope they continue the Pixel line and give us an absolute beast next year.
