I'm glad I have you here to tell me my phone lags. Without you here, I'd never know it.

I had a Galaxy S8+ they everyone said was smooth and no lag. I returned it a week later, it absolutely had minor microstutters or slight hiccups here or there.

And watching YouTube videos people returning their Note 9s saying it's still lag slightly a little bit

So does it lag or stutter? Those two things aren't the same. Or are you making this up because you don't like Samsung's UI?

Why would I make stuff up? I don't do **** like that I call it out like it is good or bad.

I love my pixel 2 XL but it's not perfect There's issues like why is the OnePlus phone a little faster and smoother than Google's flagship ?

I'll admit the iPhone is very smooth but it's a limited Fisher Price phone to me.

and I've owned 6 or 7 Galaxy Flagship phones over the years and generally like them pretty well but always had that issue of stuttering or lag or hiccups and it was never usually when the phone was brand-new that normally didn't creep up until 6 months or 1 year afterwards sort of like an old Windows 98 machine.

But my S8 plus did show very faint very minor hiccups and that just annoyed me or scared me that leg was was still there and I couldn't deal with 1/10th of a second slow down once a day.

If you want the smoothest operating smartphone it goes in this order;

OnePlus 6
iPhone XS
Pixel 2 XL

And others after that

I will say, my S9 and Note 9 have been fairly smooth since I got them, much better than the S8 and Note 8. Hopefully they stay this way, but my s9 has been smooth now for about 6 months, so maybe they’ve finally figured it out.

If they are not worried about sales, I’m not either.

The fact that I have not bought an iPhone or other device as I wait for their keynote is the most I can offer them. My sympathy has its limits.

That’s not the way business operates.
If there are no sales there will be no product.

Look at the nexus and what happened to it.

Exactly. And as long as they make enough sales to continue to sell the product that's all that matters. One phone selling more than another says nothing about the quality of the phone.

Google never used to advertise their phones and still doesnt do it much. Yet they still put them out. They dont rely on phone sales so i doubt them not selling well will put a dent in their profits.

Never claimed they did.

Then why did they cancel the nexus range?

If profits don’t matter surely they could have kept going with it instead the of pixels.

Yea that’s my point. However that didn’t work out with the nexus.

That depends on the price and demand, nothing more.

The Nexus line was mainly for developers and the Pixel line is their consumer line. And no, the sales numbers never say anything about the quality of the phone.

That’s not true.
Nexus was sold to consumers as well as developers, same with the pixel line.

You keep making that assertion, so are you saying the quality of a phone has no bearing on sales?

Because that would be false.

It was sold to consumers but it was made for developers. They never advertised those phones and the developers were kinda mad that they weren't the only ones that were getting them and in the XDA forum they would complain about that. The Nexus phones never had the best specs either. The best they got as the Nexus 5 and 5x I think it was called. Consumers were angry that they didn't have the best specs but they were cheap as well and then they finally made their more expensive phones.

I liked the nexus branding, but sales took a dive when they switched drôle the nexus to the pixel.

I had a Nexus 5, it was ok but overall I didn't like it well enough and didn't care for stock Android. They used to alteranate different companies making it. Those Nexus developer phones were cheap is why when word got out., People were buying them but they never sold a lot. Don't think they even sold 1 million of any Nexus at one time.

Nexus was mainly a budget line device targeted to developers but sold to anyone who wanted it. If they were targeting customers they would have had a lot more marketing to advertise them but they did not.

They canceled the Nexus line to have more cohesion with their branding and enter the premium phone market. They already had a tablet and a chrome book with the name Pixel. Having for th most part budget phones attached to the name nexus then jacking up the price wouldn't be ideal. Hence a re-branding.

I said that sales say nothing about phone A vs phone B. Good phones can sell a lot, but not all good phones sell equally.

I measure the amount they care by how compelling of a product they provide. When you half ass products and misgauge your consumers, it shows a lack of caring in regards to sales.

Google obviously doesn’t need the sales..this isn’t their bread and butter honestly. I’ve owned their nexus lines and pixels and will give them their keynote oct 9th...but that’s it. I have been on android since 2012 but my loyalty will always be to my money, not a company.

Pixel line dies, it dies.

That is true, if you you were to compare two different phones.

Sales were being compared to one phone; phone A rev a vs phone A rev b.

Pixel 2 sales vs pixel sales.

I haven't been able to find any numbers for Pixel sales. I'm assuming that if you're saying they indicate quality that the first sold more than the second?

We just have one figure, 3.9 million, but that figure includes about a year of pixel sales pre-order and launch of pixel 2 sales.

Quality is only one metric, with that being said, yes it may indicate a decrease in quality between the 1st and 2nd pixel, but there may also be other factors to consider.

If there were any concrete numbers it would be easier to understand what is happening.

They advertised the hell out of the Pixel 2 in the UK (not that it appears to have made much difference, the only person I know in real life with a Pixel is my next door neighbour).

Well I can tell you that is almost 7 times as many Nexus phones they ever sold. Nexus phones, because they were never advertised, I don't think they even reached 500k in sales.i saw a figure years ago and I want to say maybe it was 300k.

He is really picky with his phones. If there is any type of blip at all, it drives him nuts, so it seems anyways. I'm not picky. If there is lag, i dont notice it or don't care. I love my Samsung phones. I don't use the TWiz browser and I like the extra things they add to it,except Bixby. I turn that off.

The Pixels they do a little bit here. I saw commercials for them every now and then but they never advertised their Nexus line.
