Off topic a bit, but;
- The Nexus phones were never big time sellers, I think the best selling nexus was either the Motorola Nexus 6, or the Nexus 6P, and at best case it sold a total of 1.5 million phones, in the curse of it's year on sale. And that's worldwide grand total. Most of the Nexus phones were sales typically in the less than 1 million per year.
- Pixel line comes out, and yes compared to Apple and Samsung it sells like crap, but compared to the Nexus line it's doing better. I think the Pixel (2016) sold around 2 to 2.5 million phones, and the Pixel 2 line sold in the 3 to 3.5 million, still pennies compared to the iPhone and Galaxy line, but still isn't rock bottom.
My point, if Google is serious about selling phones, why do they only offer it on carrier ( Verizon ) only, and not open it up to all carriers like Apple and Samsung do ? I bet if the Pixel 3 was available on every U.S. carrier as well as the phone stores in Europe and Asia, maybe Google would sell 10 to 15 million worldwide ? And eventually get the Pixel brand name out there year after year, and grow it into something popular.
But lately I get this impression the Pixel line is like a highend nice sailboat out in the ocean with no Captain and a broken rutter. Just sort of sitting there, not going anywhere. I just hope there is a Pixel 4 next year.
