Oh geez! Sorry I did miss that, it's a popular and fast moving thread!

Hopefully the sacrifice wasn't without some benefit from the trip! If if means anything, I fell up some generator stairs the other day, bruised my shin really good! Didn't know I could defy physics and fall upwards until I was clenching my leg in pain ?
Well they didn't have any cases for the 6 pro.. so it was a really expensive attempt lol. But wow - the color accuracy of my bloody and bruised nose? The Pixel 6 Pro really made the colors pop ;)

I hope you're on the mend
Are you ok bro? Broken nose is painfully bloody. Now for the black eye that is sure to come!
Yeah - I'm on the mend. Pools of blood when it happened. Now the worst bit is sneezing. Black eye(s) already here.

Doctor in the ER didn't even bother with an x-ray. "Your septum is broken. I can see with my light.. it will heal on it's own and you're not having trouble breathing." So at least I save some money there haha

Ouch ouch ouch!

Well I am decent but not looking forward to my airport adventures on Sunday morning where I will likely be at gate 99-z and already feel like I am about go get shin splints on a regular trip.

Be well, and like others I will watch the PPV fight too ;)

Ok I'm having a hard time keeping up. Was the purpose of this trip to get a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro?

Edit nvm just noticed it was for a case. Wow. Did you at least find a case you liked? Expensive case. To think I used to cringe when I paid for a LifeProof case. 😝

Is there any way to remove the date and temp? Kinda frustrating. I want to shift the text widget with the wife and the clock up to the top but can't figure out a way to do it.

Well, I caved and got the "smaller" pixel 6, got this over the pro because I hate curved displays and prefer smaller phones, and as a bonus it saved me $300. I'm digging it so far, kinda reminds me of old school Note phones without the stylus. I do wish they had gone with something more like 5.8-6 inch screen though.

The visor looks cool and like the 2-toned grey. a deep black would've killer, but for some reason all oems have gotten away from that color. My old school jet black iphone 7 still my favorite design/color scheme ever.

Love and hate the new android 12, it seems like a great update, but lots of bugs, YouTube crashes, and it freezes randomly. At least I know I will get a software update to hopefully squash those bugs.

Haven't tested the camera all that much since I use my iphone 13 pro as my main camera phone.

Haven't opened my pixel buds as I use my Galaxy beans with my Android phones.

Battery has seemed good so far and performance is generally fast and smooth. And it works with my iphone magsafe charger.

Hate that I can't find a good case or screen protector for it. The Google wraps around the front which makes it harder to take off and I haven't found a good screen protector that goes all the way to edge.

Just some random thoughts, but really like so far, even if it is boarder line too big.

A screen in those sizes would put you in a Pixel 4a or Pixel 5. Depending how the Pixel 6 and Pro sells which by current indications show they have a hit on their hands. It could be awhile before we see those phone sizes again.

Am I the only one that likes the date and temp up top? Lol
I like it. But I'd like the option to remove it or resize it. It goes the whole width of the screen whereas I'd rather just have it locked in the top left and leave the whole right side free for other widgets etc.

It's ridiculous that we still can't remove it from the stock launcher.

How do you keep two phones at once? Just curious how it works cuz I’ve never done it before. Do you have to keep switching SIM card into the phone you want to use each day/week/however often you wanna switch? Thanks
Basically yes...I find the iphone is better for frequent travelling since I put airtags in all my checked & carryon bags (fantastic product), plus iphones are better with loading boarding passes etc. Dunno why android is so ****** in the Wallet Dept. Daily driver is android but I am torn on the incoming Pixel 6...I am currently on a 5 as well as a oneplus 7T and both are as-new, I'm not convinced the new 6 is worth the expense right now.

Nope. They didn't have a single case.

Is my understanding that space is reserved for amber alerts, weather notifications, traffic, appointments, travel updates. It's essentially a zone for critical notifications.

Samsung Internet Beta with Dark Mode enabled looks great on the 6 Pro. Plus it's an insanely smooth and fluid browser.

Still have my Pixel 6 Pro Cloudy White, and my Seafoam green Pixel 6.

Personally I find the Pixel 6 a much easier phone to just pick up and go, throw in my pocket and run. Whereas the 6 Pro is just too large or almost fragile feeling, need to more careful grabbing it. But it is a more premium phone with a better display. And content looks great on it.

My opinion, the Pixel 6 Pro good if you work at home mostly and don't go out much. But if your on the go and run around a lot then the more pocket friendly Pixel 6 is better. The Pixel 6 just feels easier to hold, has better grip.

One interesting thing, the battery life seems a bit better on the smaller Pixel 6. Not sure why that is?

So if I have to make a decision right now, gut feeling, which phone am I keeping...Pixel 6 in Seafoam green. It just feels more Pixel, more Google-ish, I like the minimalist design of the squared off look and bezel borders, gives it a solid thick strong look, but minimal, not flashy, plus feels confident to hold. The 6 Pro curved edge screen seems to offer nothing and serves no purpose really, the rounded edges almost act like bezels themselves, there's really no content shown on them, plus a shadow is always present on the bend of the curved edge, almost seems like a bezel then.

My dream, Google should have made the regular Pixel 6 with similar specs as the 6 Pro, give it the LPTO 120hz display tech, give it 12GB RAM, and the same size larger 5,003mAh battery, and the extra zoom lense, and keep everything the same as is with the flat screen and comfortable size. That would've made this easily the number smartphone of 2021.

Ok some thoughts between 6 and 6 Pro.
Sorry if this ends up being lengthy. I'm typing as I go haha.

So firstly, the design is SO much better on the 6. I'm speaking on behalf of myself BTW, not as fact, as many people will prefer the design of the Pro.
But for me, the flat edges, flat screen and slightly smaller size Vs the Pro makes it so much nicer to hold and use.

Strangely, the 6 feels heavier than the Pro. Despite it actually being lighter. I think they have done something with the weight distribution on the Pro to make it feel lighter as the smaller 6 definitely has more heft to it and feels a little top heavy. I don't have a preference on either in terms of weight though. I like the weight of both, they don't feel 'too' heavy which is good.

Haptics. Well, it almost feels like we have two completely different motors in these phones. The 6 haptics feel barely there. I was really surprised at how much worse they feel. The reviews I watched all said the two devices had very similar haptics, just the Pro felt slightly stronger / better. However in my experience, the 6's are not good. Shame as I expected more. Pro is miles ahead. Goes back to what I was sayin re the internals. Seems like they got the Pro internals for weight distribution and haptics bang on.

Screen. The screen comparison is a weird one. When I flit between the phones, the Pro feels like the screen is too big and I need more widgets or apps on to fill it out, but then when I switch back to the 6, that looks cramped. I do think the curved display gives the feel of a bigger, more immersive experience but with it, I do feel like you lose some grip and comfort.

I honestly cannot notice any difference between 90 and 120hz. 60 to 90 is very obvious, but not 90 to 120. To me, anyway.

What I can see now though having them both together, is the Pro display does seem a hair sharper and looks like the display is painted onto the top of the glass. Whereas the 6 seems like the glass is over the screen, if that even makes sense.

Camera. So this was the biggest thing for me as I am someone who does buy a phone based on its camera prowess. I'm not into photography or anything, but I like to have a versatile camera system on my phone.
Main camera is obviously the same, but the zoom is the biggest difference so I thought I'd take some snaps today with both at 4x just to really see the difference. I wanted to know how the 6 copes at 4x without the telephoto, and how much better the telephoto on the Pro makes pics look.
Well, see for yourself below.

I knew the telephoto was pretty good on the Pro, but this really underlines it for me. It's such a good lens. Thing is, the 6 does a decent job with all photos at 4x I think. But as soon as you pinch to zoom into those photos from the 6 it all falls apart. Whereas the Pro retains some fantastic detail.
This is the reason I think I may keep hold of the Pro. Despite me loving using the 6 so much more. It's more comfortable, has a better design and feel (for me) and I prefer the Sorta Seafoam colour over my Sorta Sunny. And any of the Pros for that matter.

I will continue over the weekend, but I don't think I want to deal without the telephoto. I don't 'dislike' the Pro at all. I just wanted to experience the Pixel 6 for myself and I'm glad I have. Next year I hope Google does away with 2 models that are different in certain areas and just makes a smaller and a bigger model with a flat screen. All I ask!

This is a great comparison, thanks for sharing. I find myself in a similar boat, although I already returned the Pro and am now getting a 6 shipped. The telephoto is the biggest question mark I have - I'm loathe to miss that. At the same time, I question how much I'd use it. It seems like the smaller 6 has better battery and a little better feel in the hand, which are important for me.

This was GENUINELY an extremely helpful and thorough post, so thank you. I will be getting the Pro. I prefer a flat display but I can't ignore how much better the camera and visual experience is with the Pro vs the 6.

All I ask!
Awesome write up ..really good points and love the pics ..zoom in on some is where you see it I agree ..both look good uploading to site ...I'm no expert in photography and I would be really happy with shots from both phones ... I'm a dog lover so I can't say enough about what a great looking dog ya own ...
