My sleeve or pouch that I ordered arrived. J can go without the screen protector for awhile now until they eventually make and stock the blasted things.

I'm now posting from my S21 Ultra and can't focus on this display either. Lol I guess the 13 Pro display well and truly 🤬 over my vision. It's like what happened to me a few years ago on the XS Max. Time healed that fiasco.

So, I'm just going to keep "Stormy" and take a couple days break from OLED displays. I don't think I need to worry this will cause the same problems the 13 Pro did. The sensations are entirely different. I've been through this before. It will be fine.

All other aspects of the Pixel 6 Pro so far are awesome! My husband is also enjoying his 6 Pro.

In my mind, my brain says a phone is big by the weight juxtaposed to the size of the screen. This is the reason I would never purchase a max size iPhone. Even my 12 pro feels too heavy. Sure it's an illusion but phones are too heavy for me nowadays. Pixel 6 series does a good job balancing premium and lightness.
I could not agree more. Because of this, the 6 Pro is much easier for me to use than a 13 Pro. I couldn’t imagine trying to use a 13 Pro Max.

Sorry to hear about the displays. I used to have similar issues myself but I must’ve adjusted because OLED screens don’t bother me at all any more.

Is your husband using the 6 Pro as his main phone now?

I found out that I get eye strain from focusing too close. I actually picked up computer glasses for when I work (minimum magnification and some light filtering). Since I started wearing those for work, I found out my issue wasn’t PWM, it was just looking at close screens too much.

I am also slightly near-sighted, and don’t wear my corrective lenses outside of driving anymore. That seems to help too as my eyes aren’t correcting for the near-sighted lenses, + being asked to focus close when the lenses are fighting it.

My overall near vision improved after I started regularly wearing computer glasses at work, and dropped wearing my other corrective lenses outside of driving. Now phones don’t bother me anymore.

How did you get this? I am new to pixel. Only ever had samsung and iphone. Does pixel have themes like samsung ? I love the one you are using.
this is done using Nova Launcher and custom icons . Nova lets you customize icons, spacing, the dock, the search bar etc. I love Samsung themes but with Pixels you kind of have to build your own

If anyone is looking for a nice clear case that adds no bulk to the phone I highly recommend the Peel case. Got mine for my pro and love it, grippy but not bulky and nice and clear. Here are some pics

The speakers on this phone are fantastic!
Respectfully and sadly I am on the other side of that feeling. Though my opinion is on the 6, not 6 pro.

They lack the dynamic range of the dual forward facing speakers of the 3, and don't achieve the same level of audio output either. The feeling / sound quality is also very tinny to me.

There are some other degradations, too. The Pixel 6’s speakers sound so much worse. They’re tinny, lack any semblance of bass, and are much less dynamic than the Pixel 3. While I’ve always enjoyed watching videos on my Pixel 3 without any further peripherals, the Pixel 6 makes me want to connect to my Bluetooth hearing aids almost every time I consume content. You can completely forget about listening to music on the 6’s speakers, too, if you ask me — it’s just not enjoyable.

I fully agree with the statements in that review. One of the only steps backward in moving to this phone from the 3.

I'm referring to the regular 6. I've noticed that a lot of the things people complain about this phone just don't bother me. The speakers are good enough for me 🤷. With this phone, I'm realizing that I don't need a thousand-dollar phone to be happy. The only reason I even purchased my 12 Pro Max is because it only cost me about $100 after a crazy Verizon promotion. The 6 is good enough for me.

No he’s still using his iPhone as his main phone. He says it supports his workflow better. He said when he gets a lot of his work apps running the Pixel has frozen or stuttered. They probably need to be updated to work better with Android 12. But he likes it.

He says he’s frustrated because it’s the same old story, iPhones, Samsungs and Pixels each have some incredible strengths and he wants to take them and put them on one phone.

With me, it’s a little different. The Pixel is the phone I’ve been waiting for and didn’t even know it. Since I had to stop using the screen, I played with Google Assistant and voice commands and its integration with YouTube music. I was really impressed.

And the built in speakers sounded really good. There was a time I enjoyed similar integration between Siri and Apple Music but that was back in iPhone 7 Plus days. Then it got broken. Siri just couldn’t hear me over the song so I had to manually change songs. I don’t know if this was fixed recently but I tried for a couple of years and gave up and almost forgot it was once possible.

I had that happen just once with Google Assistant. Lol I was playing songs by Lady Gaga and her song “Judas” came on and I couldn’t get Assistant to hear me and stop the song. lol “Stormy” just kept rocking out to Gaga! 🤣 But it worked fine other times.

I’m going to give Audible a try. Or see if there’s some other way to get the phone to read my ebooks to me. I prefer to read and am not a fan of listening to books. Plus Audible is expensive. But I have to be flexible about this. I’m going to also try to use Accessibility accommodations and see how far I can go with them. I’ll try them on my XR, too. Which I’m typing on now.

Some OLED displays I can get used to. I got used to my 12 mini. But the Xs max and the 13Pro take it to a different level beyond eye strain. I was getting close to starting having seizures again. Samsung S21 Ultra’s variable refresh rate never put me through that sort of thing. Even the Pixel 6 Pro isn’t doing that. It’s just eye strain. So I’m going to cut my screen time way down and explore other aspects of the Pixel.

I have the 6. Was debating whether to go with the pro, but already have a 13 pro max so decided to go with the smaller Pixel. Although physically it’s not that much smaller.
Loving it so far. And for the first time in my phone buying life I bought a colour other than black when it was available. Went with the sorta coral. I think Google do colours well, I loved the Panda 2xl though I didn’t buy it.

Enjoying the camera. I’m by no means an expert. I don’t zoom in to check every detail or look at photos other than on my phone or iPad screen. I just prefer the Pixel look if that’s such a thing.

FPS is weird. 50 % of the time it doesn’t work with my right thumb, moisten my finger and it works. My left thumb is 100% accurate . Never had that problem with any other FPS.

Using a Medidevil film screen protector which neither helped or made the FPS issue worse.
Spigen Thin fit case fits well, probably doesn’t offer too much drop protection. As much as I love the colour of the phone I hate clear cases and could never carry a phone naked, so it’s business on the street and party at home.

Have had a couple of freezes on apps, hopefully will be sorted with updates. Worse one was when I tried to change a setting and screen went off and wouldn’t turn back on. Random button holding or time sorted it. Took a couple of minutes to come back to life. These don’t bother me too much, I have had similar with multiple phones including iPhones. As long as it’s not a regular occurrence.

Happy with sound from the speakers. Don’t listen to music through them, only the odd game and YT video so more than good enough for me.

One thing I would have preferred would have been to have volume and power button on either side, just makes it easier when it comes to pressing two at a time.

I thought / hoped that having both phones would allow me to easily make a decision on which to keep.
It's actually made it worse...

The two most important things the Pro has over the 6 for me are:
- Night and day better haptics.
- Amazing telephoto.

The two things the 6 has over the Pro for me:
- Preferable and more comfortable design.
- Smaller.

I can't decide.
It's so tough because the compromises I am making with the 6 over the Pro I don't really want to make.
Whereas I could continue with the Pro and just get used to the size which I know I would do. I just find it frustrating that there is a model I much prefer to actually "use" day to day because of its design.

I think you basically answered your own question. You should keep the 6 Pro. If the size and comfort are your basic complaints and could get used to it then there is no reason to keep the Pixel 6. Tech always trumps comfort. Put the Pro in a comfortable case and it becomes a non issue and the size of both phones are really too close to call. They are almost the same in size.

I think I am fine with it, but was also spoiled with the 3 as it has the best audio of any phone I have owned.

Hard to beat 2 forward facing speakers. I used it for morning podcasts when I didn't want to fire up a homepod or Google home.

Off for my first trip with the pixel. Planning on doing some extensive photography tests this trip as I am a huge fan of the architecture and rivers in the city if Pittsburgh.

So far I have some stuff downloaded on Netflix to watch in flight, and have the Delta app installed

Really miss passbook, and the Delta app is buggy on this phone. Once you show the boarding pass it doesn't go back. You have to kill the app and restart it.

Also my iPhone notified me of an upgrade to 1st class, the pixel did nothing until my second time opening the app after showing my boarding pass to the bag attendant and TSA.

OH by the way, the Delta app on Android doesn't show your TSA pre status or Sky priority when the app is doing a full screen display of you your boarding pass QR code. Hoping there is an update soon. I'll be sending a note to Delta on this.

I'm gonna need someone to come to my house and physically take one of these devices away and then I'm goin to have to just use what's left.

As other than that, I have no idea how I'm going to make this decision.
Put the Pro in a drawer and been using the 6 all morning. Just love it. Love the design and comfort so much.

Yeah I agree with this. Having held them now, I don’t think there’s too much difference between them (I have a 11 Pro for reference) besides the height. The Pro is a beautiful device and you’ll have lots of fun with it.
