The past two mornings I've woken up to my phone only being 75% charged. I assume this is adaptive charging but its supposed to reach 100% by the time my alarm goes off, which it isn't doing.

Add this to the growing list of bugs with this phone. MKBHD made a comment during his latest "what's in my tech bag" video that echos my feelings of this phone. He said, somehow this phone has gotten buggier week after week. And that's how I feel. On release I had a few minor bugs but since then they've started to pile up. cell signal has gotten worse, charging is inconsistent, fingerprint sensor hit or miss, screen sometimes manually locks, and my favorite....the proximity sensor stops working during a call and my face triggers the mute button.

I'm holding out hope the January update fixes a lot. Because I checked and resale for these phones is already way down or else I might have moved on already. It's a shame because there's a lot about this phone I really like.
Saw somebody on twitter who had it plugged in and didn't charge at all. Sounds like a wtf moment

Yeah, honestly I just thinks it is a bug with adaptive charging. Its supposed to charge the phone slowly so that it reaches 100% right before my alarm goes off. But for some reason its stopping it at 75%. Turning adaptive charging off has fixed it for now.

But, not to sound like a broken record, this is the type of **** thats not a deal breaker but always happens with Pixel phones for the first few months. I'm reaching the age where im just tired of dealing with it and just want a phone that works. I'm getting really close to selling this and get a 13 Pro Max because it know it will just work all the time. I'll keep the Fold 3 for when I want something fun.

I hear you 100% my friend. It does get annoying these little bugs somehow find a way into the beginning months of a release.. I guess we could say that about plenty of phones, but we talking Google and we know how that history goes

Honestly that’s why I don’t even look at Android phones anymore. Don’t even have the itch because I just got sick of all the little things that would pile up that I just take for granted on iPhones.

I get it. Personally I find iOS boring, but that's no always a bad thing. It's boring but it's polished and it just works.

I'm there with you iPhones work but are a bit boring. Not a bad thing.. tbh most of the phones that I've had recently on the Android side. I have run smoothly with no issues.. especially the Samsung phones. I really have an encountered any bugs at all and I have plenty of friends that keep their Samsung phones for years just like the iPhones

I agree. It's funny, a lot of people say Pixels are like iphones on the Android side, and I see why they say that, but I think Samsung are more similar to iPhones. Sure, they have a little more bloat, especially with the settings, but the hardware and software polish is much closer to an iPhone than Pixels are.

The best phone I've ever owned to this day is the S21 Ultra. I regret selling it for the Pixel 6 Pro.

I will honest I tried the pixel 6 pro and while great device for me it felt boring. Yes I know I use an iPhone which you can say the same but compared to the s21 ultra and fold 3 it felt very plain to use.

13 pro max is my daily but for me s21 Ultra is the best slab phone I’ve used

Only sold the s21 ultra to wait for the s22 ultra.

I dunno if Google has fixed the FPS but for me it wasn’t great. Maybe when the update finally comes it gets sorted. Apart from that it was stable for most part. Had a few bugs at the start but that was it.

What I do miss for pixel 6 pro is the skin tones as it does an amazing job in this area

Exactly Samsung is really the iPhone contra on Android ..build quality is exceptional and specs ... everyone talks about bloat but for me it's a useful one ..and you don't have to use it ...it does not slow down the experience..Fold 3 is amazing ...Ultra I most likely will find out once this new one comes in ...I've owned plenty of Note phones which were an incredible experience...I love my Pixel assistant that is what is mostly keeping me using it daily ...

Another great point ..camera wise skin tones on Pixel are good

Still can't find a way for assistant to operate things in my house without it being unlocked, but otherwise voice recognition is second to none, and this phone is awesome at speech to text functions. I do have to edit here and there, but it is leagues ahead of other items I have at my disposal.

I’m honestly not aware of any bugs but mostly I’m using it for the camera right now.

My life has really just imploded so I don’t have the luxury of testing and seriously deep diving.

I sleep about 4-5 hours if I’m lucky and my husband and I look like cast members from The Walking Dead. I’m unfortunately getting a sense from my little pop ins here that things are a bit rocky for the Pixel 6 series? Argh. That’s a shame. For me personally, it hasn’t had the obvious shortcomings of the Pixel 3XL so I was hoping we were having a good run here.

I’m surviving on my iPhone 11. My issue with the Pixel 6 Pro is it’s too big to carry together with the iPhone 11. For me, the Androids with the big beautiful displays were always about fun. And now the Pixel is about fun and the superb camera which has not disappointed me yet.

Me being me, I can have fun and find something cute to photograph even during a zombie apocalypse. So I get a little bit of that on my 6 Pro when I have made the effort to carry it with me. But I still haven’t had all the fun discovering everything it can and can’t do for me.

For my husband, whose burdens are unimaginable, Samsung Fold 3 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max apparently are the heroes of the day. Poor man got an Apple Watch for Christmas but he’s not had time to set it up yet. However, he still loves his 6 Pro for the camera. Like me, he’s not interacting with it to the level to be inconvenienced massively by any bugs.

Y’all know I’m looking at the s22’s. Probably not the S22 Ultra. The regular S22 looks small. That might be a good option for me right now. I don’t know. But yeah I’m going to be looking at them. I look at everything. Looking is free! 😁

Ah crap ...I don't have any to test here ...only one mini speaker I don't use ...ha

Oh yes miles ahead on dictation minus the few corrections which tbh I tend to ramble at times hehe so I'm surprised when it does do it correctly ...

You don't say.......

;)

Yes I do the same, and for the most part it listens well. Even when I forget i have it listening, get distracted and move onto something else. I have had some interesting paragraphs recorded! ;)

Sorry things imploded for you! Hoping things improve so you can be a bit more comfortable and perhaps a bit more of a Happy mom!

For me the 6 is doing great, no big complaints. I think many of us are hyper verbal as we are in withdraws from having a reasonable dose of software updates ;) .

I still enjoy this device more than my other phones, only falls behind my 13 Pro in being a bit too big, and I do strongly prefer the video capability on iPhones to this day. Otherwise the budget little 6 is huge bang for buck and a treat to use!

!

I find it interesting when I have the TV in the background and if I pause a little bit it picks up some of the commentating… That’s my main correction time lol

So…I may or may not have picked up a 13 Pro Max today. The Pixel 6 Pro is officially on the clock. Better get an update that fixes me issues or I’m switching to the 13 Pro Max. Although I have to say, the notifications and lack of a standard back button location is already pissing me off. Lol.

So mkbhd had this to say...

I really haven't posted much in this thread but have been lurking. Every since my XL 4 gave out I've haven't been looking at pixels for a while. Reading through some of the recent posts here and a pulled update, I'm sort of glad I didn't go through with a pixel 6

I am a bit bummed though but even my 5a haven't even been opened yet, it's almost like an insurance phone now.

Used to be so into pixels and phones it seems things across the board have gotten pretty stale. I want to trust pixel phones again.

Yeah I just saw this as well. That mirrors my experience perfectly and it’s what I have been saying on here the past few days. It started out good but bugs are building and becoming more frequent. I still believe google will iron out the software issues in the next few updates, but they have to do a better job of internal testing before releasing software. It’s embarrassing how bad their QC is for a company of their size.

So, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are obviously very buggy. Are both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro equally as buggy, or is one buggier than the other in your experience?

From what I’ve heard, it’s been pretty equal. I just think Pixel 6 owners are more willing to tolerate it because they paid $599 rather than $899 like the Pro owners.

Never good when such a big voice comes out with a tweet like that. Sounds like it’s a mixed bag though not everybody is having such issues

Yeah, to add my two pennies worth, I've had literally zero issues with my 6 Pro, even post the December update which I did receive before they pulled it (or was it the December update that has caused a lot of issues?! I can't keep up!) so yeah, the experience has been pretty seamless for me, though granted I'm in no way a power user and don't push the phone too much.

That said, I am strongly considering picking up an iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I'd be keeping my 6 Pro too, at least for the interim. The reason? Just for a change more than anything. I think I've been Android since the iPhone 6? I can't really remember. But yeah, I kind of want to dip my toe back into iPhone and iOS and see what it's like. Plus iPhone now has 120hz and I have to say, as much as I like my 6 Pro, I'm sort of longing for a flat screen. I've been toying with ordering one for the last two weeks, but various things have stopped me actually pushing the button, but lets see whether I hold out much longer!

Went back to the iPhone? Lol. Yeah… I can’t see myself going back. Don’t get me wrong… I like the consistency in iOS, but I just want more out of it.

Are you planning on getting the Apple Watch as well?

And yeah, I knew that was coming based off his EveryDay Carry vid. I have a feeling… he’s not going back to the Pixel as soon as S22 Ultra/Note is launched.

Don’t get me wrong, I prefer android. My decision to try the 13 Pro Max was lack of options.

The Pixel 6 Pro is what I currently have an is giving me tons of issues. I still may keep it if the January update resolves a lot of them.

The Fold 3 I’m still undecided on but it looks like it will be a secondary device for me or I will give it to my dad. I love using it at home but the front screen just doesn’t cut it for me when I’m out. But I definitely have my eye on the Fold 4.

The only other option is the S21 ultra and I already had that and wanted to switch it up. I’ll be keeping an eye on the S22 release but it sounds like it’ll be minor updates aside from the spen. Which is fine, that phone is already amazing.

So….iPhone won by default. And I’ve been wanting to try iOS again to see what’s changed. I typically pickup an iPhone every 2-3 years and see what’s improved with the OS. I love the stability and app quality on iOS, but the notifications, gestures, and cost of getting deep into the ecosystem always hold me back. But there’s something to say about how polished everything is. I rarely have bugs or issues.

Edit: I just saw your question about the Apple watch. This is tough. I really like my Galaxy Watch 4 but it makes no sense to keep if I end up keeping the iPhone, so yeah, I probably would. But thats the problem with Apple isnt it. Its almost all or nothing. If I decide to keep this iPhone I'm going to go all-in for a little while on the Apple side and see how I like it. The other option is, I return to what I know and love, and thats Samsung. Even though the S22 Ultra would be boring since I spent basically the last 2 years on Galaxy S phones, I know I like it and I know it works.
