Even if they have likely identified a fix for it, that's probably preliminary and needs to be ran through more thorough testing in each region, etc.
Ah, that’s understandable, if that’s the case. Then again, this is Google we’re talking about. Don’t be surprised if the late January fix isn’t even the ”fix.”

Well, thats trash. The least they could do, is send an update for the mobile connectivity issue, since they have identified a fix for it. That’s a lot easier than non-tech users having to use the flash tool and perform a factory reset.
I hear you ..very frustrating for many people

So, according to that article, a person could roll back to the November update if they had already sideloaded the December update?
Is that the sideloading? I didn't recognize the tool they mentioned unless I'm mistaken ..oops read it wrong so yeah ...plus it's saying factory reset I guess if you are having issues would need it ...

its funny because unless you are having issues with your phone and NEED the update to fix it.....what are you missing out on the updates being late?
My 6 Pro has been rock solid on the Nov update. No issue for me so far. I can wait and be patient for them to get things right.

And tbh, some of the bugs (very minor UI stuff) I was hoping would get fixed in the December update didn't, ha.

Yeah, I mean I think it sucks and hate seeing updates delayed, but I currently have no issues with my 6Pro. I like to update being a tech nerd, and hope it comes soon though.

Love this wallpaper

The fingerprint scanner on my 6 has become even worse since installing the screen protector.
Like it never works now.
I think I will keep it on and persevere, as I like the protection after scratching my Pro. But really annoying how much worse it is. ?

It's been the same for me since launch day.

The scanner is so inconsistent, some times it works as I would expect it to, on the next occasion it fails 3 times in a row! I'm at that stage where I may just rip the screen protector off and see how I go.

Have you any signal issues on the December update? Or have you stuck on November?

Nightmare!
My Pro got the December update weeks ago. Didn't notice any difference with FPS but I didn't have major issues with it as I was protector-less on my Pro.

I have never had signal issues on either device thankfully 🙌🏻.
Both with Pro on Dec and regular on Nov.

My regular 6 won't hold a 4g signal in places every other phone I've had does. I've also had a few dropped calls whilst having good signal.

I really can't be bothered rolling back to the November patch and resetting the phone, I may just ride it out till the fix comes in January.

Yeah probably for the best. In fairness, I don't think I've hardly been out anywhere to even test the signal. And I don't have another device to compare it to in order to see whether it's worse.

So it could be problematic, it's just not for me currently whilst I am back to WFH and COVID being crazy here so I'm hardly venturing out!

Google finally speaks up about the Dec update that wrecked people's phones. They say they know what the problem is but it will take until the end of January to fix it and release the next update. That is a long time for a mature product which makes wonder if there are hardware issues they are looking into. So freaking glad I returned this joke of a phone.

Well, if a software update caused the issue that wrecked peoples phones, then I doubt its a hardware issue.

I'm fortunate to have no issues other than occasional small quirks ... hopefully they get this resolved sooner than later for folks ...

Yeah, the FP scanner is still trash as ever. But for anyone of us that’s been using Google phones since day 1 (Nexus One), we know better. Lol. I just wish Google took their phones serious. It’s obvious it’s just a pet project to them.

My FPS just randomly got significantly better a couple weeks ago and now it hardly ever fails. Can't really explain why.
I wish I could say the same. Maybe I’ve used too many phones in my day to know when a FP scanner isn’t the best.
