That seems high ..usually around 15% or lower is what I'm seeing ...Is 36% battery used by 'Mobile Network'... normal? I've been on Wifi for all but like two of the last 24 hours.

Gotcha. I don't know if it's a service thing, a bug, or what. I'm on the December patch but seems like it's been a problem for others even before that. That seems high ..usually around 15% or lower is what I'm seeing ...
Yup I saw reports of it prior to the Dec update..I'm around 17% today ..I've noticed a few small bugs at times .. yesterday my phone a few times would stay on instead of screen off which I have set to 15 seconds ...Gotcha. I don't know if it's a service thing, a bug, or what. I'm on the December patch but seems like it's been a problem for others even before that.
Sorry been away with a week in, followed by flights being canceled to get home from Houston. Had a lovely time exploring new places, and had my first ever Christmas morning away from winter weather.
Camera didn't get used much, as I was exploring mostly with my R5 and used my pixel and iPad mini for photo editing on the fly.
Both pixel shots however.

Thanks boss!Excellent. Happy holidays to you ...enjoying that R5

You CAN disable 5G with an AT&T SIM in, you just have to be fast. The biggest issue I have when traveling is that I am fully unable to disable 5G on the Pixel 6, and I feel that is draining the battery far too fast.
Very nice indeed ..sounds like a splendid time there my friend...I am absolutely shocked that the December update is still not available or posted for my 6. I believe I have had 2 iOS updates for my 13 Pro since I originally patched my 6 with the November update.
What is going on that our Flagship phone (from google) still hasn't had a solid release? Overall the phone has been decent for travel, though there are some bugs that I am hoping to have resolved in a patch.
I am strongly considering moving my primary ATT Sim / Service back to iPhone however. The biggest issue I have when traveling is that I am fully unable to disable 5G on the Pixel 6, and I feel that is draining the battery far too fast. For the short stint when this phone was on Visible (Verizon MVNO) the battery life was far better on the go.
Pix will still be a daily driver, just on a different number and network.
Thanks boss!
The R5 (and the Regular R) were a total joy to play with down there, especially at some of the venues I hit, and the overnight christmas displays through town. Even used the DJI a bit for some golden hour shots. Was a fun tour of cullinary, breweries, and a few sights outside of the normal tourist circle. Definitely not a Houston Novice, was my 4th full week there this year!
You CAN disable 5G with an AT&T SIM in, you just have to be fast.
Go to Settings > Network and Internet, then tap on "SIMs" (it will say AT&T underneath), toggle "Use SIM" off, then when you toggle it back on "Preferred Network Type" will pop up briefly down below (for maybe five seconds), tap that before it goes away and select the circle next to LTE.
Very nice indeed ..sounds like a splendid time there my friend...
If the quick toggle off doesn't work I thought I saw ways to disable 5G through the dialer ...
Glad you got it..I hate when they block it in settings for some carriers.. Simple toggle should be on all phonesHuge thanks for the tip, I guess it pays to still be active here.
I gave it a try and while my home doesn't have 5G coverage, I hope to see it stay on LTE when I am moving around. Knowing the trick will be nice as I do like 5G for the speed (at times) but don't need it usually for what I do. It is absolutely silly that it is locked out by default.
I feel many of the Android advantages (Customization and full control) are slowly being washed away.
One more tip: Toggling the SIM off/on one more time will show you under 'Preferred Network Type' what it is set to now (before it disappears again, ha), if you just want to be sure.I gave it a try and while my home doesn't have 5G coverage, I hope to see it stay on LTE when I am moving around.
Toggling 5G should definitely be an option on all phones, especially given the spotty nature of 5G on most carriers and how much it can affect battery life if the phone is stuck on a weak 5G signal.
I've only ever had 5g once and that's when I was in a city.
Just don't see the point in it, personally.
I love this Launcher! I used this when I still had the Z Flip 3!Using the Niagra Launcher. I absolutely love it. So clean and pretty.
What's frustrating, is the fact that I can toggle my ATT iPhone without issue, it is disabled on Android for whatever reason. And to think that Android is supposed to be the more "open" system!Stupid carriers! I think in the case of AT&T they are just straight up blocking it (as best they can) which is dumb because their 5G is crazy bad right now.
Assistant settings lock enabled? I'm sure but double checkingWhat's frustrating, is the fact that I can toggle my ATT iPhone without issue, it is disabled on Android for whatever reason. And to think that Android is supposed to be the more "open" system!
Still trying to figure out how I can operate home devices with the screen locked with google assistant. Everything I can thing of is enabled, still no dice!
Wow, late January. That's pretty bad.December update officially confirmed paused...expect late January update ...
Wow, late January. That's pretty bad.
Well, thats trash. The least they could do, is send an update for the mobile connectivity issue, since they have identified a fix for it. That’s a lot easier than non-tech users having to use the flash tool and perform a factory reset.December update officially confirmed paused...expect late January update ...
Even if they have likely identified a fix for it, that's probably preliminary and needs to be ran through more thorough testing in each region, etc.The least they could do, is send an update for the mobile connectivity issue, since they have identified a fix for it.
