I just read an article about Pixel 6 and 6 Pro owners havin their phone screens randomly crack either whilst in a pocket or charging ?.

It's getting a bit ridiculous now. Some of these stories are just click bait and the image used of one of these supposed cracked screens is of a Pixel with a huge impact crack at the bottom corner (very clearly dropped).

The actual issues people are experiencing, like signal problems and general bugs and annoyances are very much in need of a fix. But all these other nonsense stories are just getting a bit out of hand.
I think this is overblown. I saw the same article and some of the pics are obvious impact cracks.

I'm sure some people did get faulty devices whos screens cracked because of the faulty builds. However, for every person that happened to, theres probably 10 more who's screens broke due to user error and they are trying to claim it was Google's fault to get a free replacement.

But what about the December update? Both my Pixel 6 phones have yet to receive it.

Google is pulling some **** and still claiming on Twitter that its rolling out in phases over the course of the month. But any tech site poll will show that only a small minority of the user base has actually received it, and those that have are running into connection issues.

It's likely they pulled the update and are scrambling to come up with fixes, but their lack of communication is a joke. But if we're being honest, its a Pixel, is anyone really that surprised? I feel like every Pixel device that has ever released is buggy as hell on release and after 3-4 months of updates they are great.

Yeah, that's why I said potentially, haha. I'm not necessarily expecting it next Monday, but it could be possible.

Haha, I didnt see that.

I would be fine with Google delaying the January update if they needed it to get the update right. My issue isnt with the Dec updated not arriving, its the lack of communication that bothers me. Transparency and communication go a long way in keeping customers happy in my opinion.

I’ve been carrying my Pixel 6 Pro around without a screen protector and in the front pocket of a small backpack for days. So far, it’s looking good. I dented the plastic screen protector doing that, but haven’t done anything to the screen, so I’m guessing on average, these phones are meant to get on with life and not be babied.

Meanwhile, the tiny defect in one lens of my camera on my S21 Ultra now is definitely manifesting as a crack I can feel with my fingernail. So it’s a good thing after all, that I wasn’t able to send it off for trade because I didn’t realize it was a true crack and marked the phone as undamaged when offering it to trade for the Z Fold 3.

I saw it one day not too long after purchase and thought it was some sort of internal imperfection, because I could not feel it. I had to really look at it under bright light. It looked, up until a few days ago, like a scratch in the coating. But it’s somehow progressed to be an actual undeniable crack to the surface I can now feel. This phone has only traveled from room to room since summertime. It’s been in a folio case on a vacation during which I did treat it very gently. I’m absolutely certain it was never subject to any impacts. I’m not going to use it anymore and just let it sit so it doesn’t get worse.

I’ve read of “spontaneous” lens cracks happening to S20 series camera lenses so I’m going to assume something happened in manufacturing with mine. I’m definitely going to trade it in if Samsung offers to take cracked phones and of course disclose the crack. I won’t get much for it but I’ll at least get it out of the house.

I would send it off to repair, if I didn’t already have enough to keep track of.

Speaking of screen protectors... The one for my reg 6 just turned up. Tempered glass, Spigen.

I never used one on my Pro and I do have a bit of a big scratch on my Pro screen and I don't know where it even came from. So I'm really glad I've been able to get one for this reg 6 that actually works with the FPS.

Dat flat display. ??

That's the reason why I did the film protector on the Pro.. I found a small scratch but it was just the protector and replaced it with my second film protector that came with purchase...

Using the Niagra Launcher. I absolutely love it. So clean and pretty.

The battery life of this regular 6 is unbelievable. I got over 6 hours SoT yesterday. My Pro has great battery life, but this is even better.

No complaints at all re battery life!
I have a broken Pixel 6 here in the house from one of our friends at the other forum and I have to admit the form factor feels nice ...I'm sure a better battery with the difference in screens and refresh rates ..I'm going the following weekend into the Google store to see if I can get it fixed for him..

If you had been a Pixel/Nexus user, this is not new. Google rolled out updates in batches. If you’re lucky, your device is in the early batches. But many people can get the update way later in the rollout phase, sometimes even a mont later.

Transparency is not in the vocabulary of Silicon valley.

True. But Google got a lot better about that with the last few Pixel releases. It was typically rolled out in phases that overall lasted a few days to a week. Not a month.

Is 36% battery used by 'Mobile Network'... normal? I've been on Wifi for all but like two of the last 24 hours.
